Peggy--I figure runners are good practice pieces. I have never done an actual practice sandwich. For my frugal nature I would have to be planning to make a quilt out of them so runners are my next best answer.

My only Feb finish......a dorm quilt for DGD (Just Can't Cut It pattern). Still have the funky stars in progress for her at home. Longarm quilter found just the right panto....hard to see, but the angled quilting temphasizes the angles in the Kokapelli fabric.

Georgia--Great finish. Keep on quilting so we see more of your fabulous works. That goes for all of you out there.
Thanks for the concern, Georgia. Vern is improving. Hopefully he will get home this week. Now it is hard to say whether that will give me more quilting time, or less.

I'm posting on my final February finish -- and I'm excited and want to share my news. My quilt guild had a challenge that involved picking 3 paint chip colors randomly and then designing a small quilt or wh with only those colors (with fabric that read as a solid) and a background color of black or white. And a flower motif had to be a part of the design as well. My colors were a pumpkin orange, and orangey red and lilac. I'm amazed to say I won a 3rd place ribbon. I was astonished as there were over 50 quilts involved. The first place gal's design was so intricate and time consuming it was amazing. She pretty much made her own bargello fabric with tiny strips of her colors and she made another fabric with tiny appliqued circles of her fabric. She used the card trick block -- it really was stunning. I wish I had brought my camera. Anyway -- I told my dh that I'm hanging mine in the front hall -- with the ribbon!!

Wow - stunning quilts and a ribbon too! Congratulations - I'd hang the ribbon too.
I don't have any February finishes but hope to have a few for March.
I keep hitting draft and don't have a clue where the drafts go! So, I usually have to retype my responses.
Hope you all are having a sewing kind of day.
Hugs,
TJ
