It was set up as QYW Playground so that those of us who had been members on Quilts Your Way would have a way of not losing touch completely when QYW gets closed shortly. QYW was as open to membership as TQS is. Like you all know, if you have surfed any other forums, they all have their own feel even though quilting is the glue that pulled you there to start with. QYW had its group of regular contributors and many of us are still fumbling with the change. We did some regular things like list our UFOs at the beginning of the year in a UFO section, each as our own topic where we then went during the year to update with photos and get cheered on by others. Sort of morphing from that I took it upon myself after discussion to start a "Monthly Finishes" thread within the general discussion thread where anyone who finished could post a description or photo. This came about when our gallery developed glitches. I have looked at opening a gallery on TQS but it is not going to happen because of the info sheet that has to be filled out for each photo, quite a change from just posting a photo. Hope this helps you understand a little better where we came from and don't be too surprised if I start a Feb Finishes within QYW shortly. I'm back on a roll.

Just as TQS members welcomed us as we arrived, we welcome all members to the playground. We'd like to get to know you, and learn what things there are still to discover here at TQS. I also miss the Gallery on QYW where everyone posted their finishes in our individual albums. It was quick and easy. I would often go and browse the Gallery when I needed inspiration. I'm not sure why the picture process here is so detailed. Agnes, I do like your idea of continuing a monthly posting where we can post pictures of our finished projects. That was working well just before we had to leave QYW. I might even have something to add soon under "February Finishes".

It sounds like the QYW gallery was different from the TQS gallery, but you are welcome to add quilt photos here!

Welcome all of you to TQS. It's a wonderful site with tons of places to post your photos. On your own profile there is both the gallery, where the details of the quilts are provided, or, if you just want to put a picture in, there are your "personal photos". There is also "show and tell" which has pictures by categories. Then you can post photos here in the forum or on your own Member's Blog posting where a lot of us keep kind of running journals of our quilting adventures and lives. It's all very inspiring and loads of fun. There are the classrooms with wonderful things to help improve our quilting, projects that are really neat, and of course the fantastic shows and the annual BOMs. I love this site, and probably spend way too much time on it. ops:

Thank you, Betty Jo, for all the info in your post regarding the posting of pictures. I only learned about posting pictures in the gallery where all that detail was requested. Good to know there are other options. There is so much here that I have yet to discover....now to just find the time!

Thanks, Betty Jo. Change always takes time. I am wanting to quilt with some time for forums, rather than the other way around so I'll pass on the galleries at the moment. Maybe down the road.
Georgia--I have my first Feb finish today so look for the topic by morning. My camera is getting juiced up.
Margo--My browser is saving my password so all I have to do is log in every time. I can live with that though it isn't quite as convenient as staying signed in.

I've signed on to the group and lurked in the old one. I find the "friends" I've made to be fascinating, interesting women and enjoy learning about them and all that they're all doing. I sent a message to this board when it first opened and have enjoyed looking at it daily and finding old friends again although I am worried about Moni and April! What happened to them? Mary
