It's Thursday & the Weekend is in Sight!

    HI All,

I am glad it's almost the weekend! It's been a busy week for me with no quilting and no time to even check the board till now. I have had to get all our tax stuff together to see the accountant. That appointment was yesterday so now I am in the clear! MY DH is a full-time farmer and since that is consider self-employed, we have to have our taxes done and paid by March 1. I work two part-time jobs but farming is the main income. Anyway, I am glad that is done for another year.

DD #2 is coming home this weekend for mid-winter break from college. She needs it. She was sick this week and the long winter with so much snow is getting to her. I hope she can get some R & R before she has to go back on Tuesday. I think some walks with the dog in the sunshine will do her good. It's supposed to warm up (!) to the high 20's/low 30's this next week and be sunny so that will help her.

AND I hope to get to my sewing room this weekend and finish up some little projects and get the Thimbleberries quilt ready to tie. Didn't get to it last weekend - hopefully I can now.

Hope everyone is having a decent Thursday!

    Kathy

I agree, Kathy! It has been a long winter! The sun is out here -- it's cold, but at least the sun is beaming. The week ahead looks free of snow, so that's a good thing as well. I think everyone has the winter blahs these days.
I did get into the sewing room yesterday and came up with a finished design for my challenge quilt - just have to unsew a couple of seams, put a border on -- it's really just a wall hanging and do some quilting. Shouldn't take too long to finish - I think. I'd like to finish something in February! Hope everyone has a good day.

Cannot wait for this cold snap to be over! 22 below again this morning and my pop froze and busted out on the garage steps.... what a mess! LOL Got my neices quilt back out on the table...hoping to get the top completely together today..... and I have batting but not sure about backing...may have to make a trip to the store for that. Have a good day all....supposed to warm up tomorrow and stay that way!

Ugh, Patsy, what a horrible temperature! We were at or below zero this morning, but certainly not to that tune. However, enough to make my nose hairs curl the minutes I stepped out to go to work. Ick.

I wanted so badly to get back into a good habit of checking in here, and have been derelict. I think a big thing will be adding this link to my Favorites Bar on my browser... get it front and center so I can't forget and can pop in here easily.

I have been a busy quilter, and hope to finish my pinwheels quilt this weekend. Also working on a wallhanging for my lunchtime sewing, though that is sporadic, since all too often, I'm too busy to take a lunch.

        Stay warm everybody! Hugs...

Beautiful quilt, April !! You are to be commended for sticking with this one to the finish line. Your pinwheels look wonderful in that arrangement and I love how you set them off with the scrappy 4Ps of like fabric. Nice work!!

Finally got the furnace working - getting down to 55 in here was a tad too chilly.

Really like your pin wheels April!!

Glad to hear the weather is better for you all. It's been windy here the last few days. Suppose to rain early next week.

Thank you bunches, friends, for liking the pinwheels. I'm quilting on this one this morning. Hope to have it finished over the weekend.

Catec, maybe a run to Borders or B&N for a gorgeous quilt magazine will spark a little inspiration?

I love you pinwheel quilt. It looks like a nice pattern for the HST'S. Did you use a specific pattern or design it yourself. It really does look cheerful!!!
