It looks like to me that everyone figured out that having the password automatically be filled in is a function of the web browser. Great job and special thanks to Margo, she is such a big help to everyone. Send her a big hug when you get a chance.
For security reasons, we do not store the unencrypted version of your password nor do want to retain the responsibility for any security breach due to people staying logged in constantly so we automatically time out each inactive session after a period of time.
So, with you having the ability to choose at YOUR browser level to store passwords or not, we get the best of both worlds.

Well -- I don't know how you all figured all that out -- but I'm hoping I have a signature now and can go directly into the site without signing in -- thank you both!!! Margo, I've bookmarked your helpful hints -- much easier than wandering through the wilderness trying to do something by "trial and error" which is normally my approach! Thanks again!

I've come to the conclusion that this site and my browser are fighting like cats and dogs. I tried different settings a couple of days ago and everything seems to last only as long as it wants to. Frustration levels are rising. Too many frustrations with something like this have made me walk away from other sites. That's largely because I can usually figure things out and this is starting to bug me. Sewing time is more relaxing.

Agnes, would you be willing to try a different browser for TQS? You may find that you like it!
I've been using Google Chrome, and have been very pleased. I especially like the tab system that allows me to have several sites open at the same time, and the 3 different options for bookmarking favorites.
You can download it here: http://www.google.com/chrome/intl/en...;utm_medium=ha

I don't have automatic sign in, but instead of getting stressed about it, I just sign in every time. It only takes a few seconds to do and let's face it,its not exactly the end of the world! I have more important things to worry about. Isn't there a book out there called 'Dont sweat the small stuff.'

Some of us were really spoiled with the ease of using the QYW MB and it is sometimes frustrating to learn something new. For me the frustration in having to sign in all the time is the fact that between work and personal computer sites I have so many passwords and sign ins that it is hard to keep up with them. All my work sites have to be changed every 60-90 days and you can't use one you have used before. I've told my IT dept that it was safer when I could use the same one all the time because I could remember it. Now I have a piece of paper with all my sign in and password info on it that is on my desk for reference all the time.
I'm hoping that my signature shows up because I followed the steps given in another thread.

Margo--I am using Google Chrome. I played once again with the settings. For everything on the computer there are so many ways to come to the right answer (solution) just like Algebra. I have the big picture. It's sometimes those little baby steps in between that elude me. I have tried various quilting forums and QYW was the most user friendly in my opinion. It was set up with enough security but not over done as if it was top government secret. LOL I Know sign in each time is not the end of the world. It can be annoying, however. As far as the signature goes it's not important enough to spend more time on it in my opinion. I'm recognizing avator faces with names and who they were on QYW. Good enough for me. Judy, just never change your avatar of Gizzy. Love to see his warm welcome.

Agnes, I need to get some new pics of Gizzy. I have to laugh because most of the time he has "bad hair days". The hair on his head stands up straight and his coat is really wavy and out of control. I brush him and get him nice and smooth looking and he jumps up and shakes and everything is back flying all out of control. I have threatened to get him some hair gel. Oh and we have found a new purpose for him. He is the vacuum cleaner for picking of Shyann's messes. He cleans up every crumb and finds every little toy she has dropped. And, Shyann's new game is getting Gizzy's football, she takes a chew and then holds it for Gizzy to take a chew, but she won't give it to him. (I know yuk! but what is a grandma to do?) Oh and her new word is "Giz". They are becoming good friends.
