Happy how are you doing on your weight loss are you still losing. I had the Gastric Bypass almost 3years ago. I was doing well then had the accident haven't lost but gained only 20 pounds then got off the med that made me gain. lost 10 of those pounds but can't work out. Don't you just love your new body. There are days that I feel so beautiful and sexy. Then there are days that I feel flappy from all the extra skin. Stay positive Rachel

Happy that is Awesome. I have lost quite a bit but have gained back some in the past 6months. However, thanks to a Dr. appointment today I may know why. Thyroid is really bad along with kidneys. We don't know why yet. More test. Oh well at least we are getting answers. How is the foot doing? What was wrong with it? Are you still behaving on your diet? I try. My downfall is coffee. They told me today tough "NO MORE COFFEE!!!" Here we go kicking the only drug I use by choice (lol). Keep sewing Rachel

I was stopped to make a left hand turn. There was a long line of cars coming (so I had to wait a while). There was a cop car that past all of these cars to pull over a semi who was going very fast in a school zone. (the school zone was about 50 yards away) All of a sudden I was rearended by a mid sized school bus. The driver said she was going between 45 and 50 MPH . She pushed me into oncoming traffic. Thankfully I have a friend who is obsessive compulsive and lives on the street that I was turning onto. She had just decided to go chech her coffee pot one more time. If it were not for her making that decission I would have hit her (SUV) or the semi behind her. The bus pushed me forward about 15-20 feet, broke my drivers seat in 3 different places (off the floor, the back off the seat itself, and where the seatbelt comes across). It Pushed the trunk up to my backseat and made my back seat about 2 feet deep. I some how broke the rearview mirror off the and the glove compartment popped open and wont stay closed now (weird). They said I had no injuries at first so I didn't go by ambulance to the hospital right away. My husband made me go immediately though. By the time I got there I had injuries alright. I couldn't breath, focus, and my headaches were starting. What is funny about the whole thing is when I came to in the car. I thought I had fallen asleep while driving. I thought that I was so tired that I had even reclined my seat. It took the paramedic at the scene quite awhile to convince me otherwise. Oh that and the fact that my hubby drove for this company for over 10 years. I had told him to quit because I was sure he was going to be in an accident. Well that is just about what I can tell you there are a lot of blurry parts and parts that are mixed up. So I don't try to remember it gets me more confused and depressed. I look at things this way God wanted me to take a break. I was a workaholic and that needed to change. Now I am a stay at home mom and I have time to do my quilts and scrapbooks. Oh and drive my family NUTS  Keep smiling Rachel

I was not allowed the phone after 8:30 for a long time. My mother told my oldest that if I called her one more time after 8:30 she was going to spank him and beat me. Apparently that particular night I had called her 6 times in a 2 hour period to tell her that my chiropractor was pregnant. The next day she came over and we had a little chat about my head injury. I had no memory of it. Then I was surprised to hear that my chiropractor was pregnant. Needless to say I have some problems remembering things. It is getting better though. I just laugh especially when Elijah tells me I should go hit my head again. He says "it works on the TV" . gotta love that kid. Rachel

Rachel & Happy, congrats on the weight loss! I lost about 30 lbs. several years ago and always struggle to keep from gaining it all back. I have to keep it under control so I don't become diabetic. It gallops in the family.....Rachel, your accident must have been awful!!! Glad you're okay!!!

I am blessed the accident could have been much worse. There could have been kids on the bus or my children could have been with me. I am fortunate that all the damage was spinal and head. So my brain is a little scrambled and my body doesn't like to move very well. Could be much worse. I could not be moving at all and I could be drooling all over myself. There is always a bright side to to every dark cloud, you just have to look. I was a workaholic missing many thing with my family. God told me it was time to slow down and spend more time at home. I would have chosen a more subtle way.... but that is not always how he works. Rachel

Yeah my mom told me along time ago that one day I was going to have to slow down and sleep. I use to say I'll sleep when I'm dead. You see I was a night shift nurse at a nursing home, a hospice nurse 4 days a week and a cashier at a local restraunt2-3 days a weak. I told you I was a workaholic. Plus as if that was't enough I would go and give my neighbors their B12 or thier insulin injections as they needed. Drove my hubby nuts. I too am glad he didn't call me home for a time out. I will tell you though that first few months of not working just about pushed me over the edge. Fortunately I was do sore that I knew there was no way I could work. I will get better though Rachel
