Thank you for your quick response. One of the reasons I prewash is to shrink the fabric.

July 2016 LaVeta Retreat
I'm going to Ricky's retreat at the end of July. :silly: Is anyone else reading this going?
I'm going by myself and admit I'm a little nervous. My son and grandkids are driving
out with me, I'm from Austin TX, and then leaving me and going to tour CO.
I haven't ever been to a retreat and I can't wait. If you're going or
have been, I'd love to get some feedback on what to expect and if anyone is
going from this area. Thanks! CharlotteCindy Bell NevilleTags: None

Lorchen, When you are on line, I would love to hear about your experiences at last years retreat in La Veta. I'm going at the end of July and am excited and nervous too especially since I'm going Sharon, suggested that I contact you. I appreciate any advise of information you can give me. Thanks so much.

I just let Lorchan know about your request for info about LaVeta, Charlotte, and got the message back, that having been to Norway, she is currently in the Shetland Isles and won't be back home till beginning of next week. And she will be too busy to get to this forum, because she finds it very slow to navigate & post to. However if you message her direct she is happy to respond to your queriesand will keep a look out for your message.
And for all Lorchan's friends, she has had a great time thus far, collecting sightings of light houses, viewing trolls, and visiting distilleries....

I went to the La Veta rereat a few years ago (maybe 5?) Had a great time! There were 7 of us, each had our own table and design wall space.
Food was beyond fabulous, I don't know if they have the same arrangements as when I went. Ricky spent some time each morning on something inspirational for the group, and then we worked on whatever our project was. Ricky was always there, available for consultation. The group worked on very different things, I remember. After dinner, we were able to use the retreat center and work, which many of us did. We have some daytime field trips out and about La Veta. Oh, and the tourist train stopped in La Veta once a day and people would walk down the street and come in!! It was fun to talk with them. And I did see a bear one morning, just outside of town.
The whole experience was at once intense and laid back- no pressures to put out product, but opportunity to dig deep and try things out. Have fun! Kathy

Thank Sharon,
I'm sure that Lorchen will need some recovery time from that trip she's on. I certainly am not in a big hurry. I have a month to go.
I just bought a new sewing machine so I wouldn't have to take my heavy weight. Now I have to practice and be sure how to work everything :-) At least they are both Elna and both work pretty much the same!
Thanks again for connecting me with Lorchen.
Hope it's cooler there than it is here. We're hitting 99 so we'll be a triple digits in a few days. Ugh.
Take care.
