    MQS in Wichita, Kansas

MQS has moved to Wichita this year. Is anyone going to the show? Taking classes? Or entering a quilt? I would love to meet any of the TQS family who is going to be there.

Cathy, I will be in Ricky's (507) lecture Friday morning and the banquet Friday night.

Margo, I am going to Ricky's lecture too. I think the number is 507. Machine quilting overload? I hope you are in that lecture too. I will be attending the banquet too. I am really getting anxious. See you there.

I hope to get to town in time for the auction on Thursday night. Will do Ricky's class Friday morning and his evening event. I'll be leaving Saturday morning.
This will be a quick trip for me.

So, Cathy, I'm not a longarm quilter, but in my free-as-a-bird newly retired state, I'm looking for shows that I might want to pencil in for 2014. Tell me about MQS...if you're not a longarmer is it still worth the trip?

                  Hi Connie -

I'm not going this year, but have gone the last couple of years. I'm not a longarmer but am very interested in the quilting part of the quilt process and I love this show. The move to Wichita makes it harder for me since my family lives in Overland Park, but I will still think about attending in future years. Remember that any quilting design you can do on the longarm can also be done on the DSM.

Connie, the MQS show is much smaller than Paducah and the vendors and classes are geared toward long armers, but the quilts are some of the cream of the crop that you will see winning awards at other shows. It's one of my favorite shows to attend! And it's a GREAT place to try out all the different long arm machines if you are in the market for one!

Ditto what Margo and Nancy said. They have some great classes, priced more reasonably that AQS classes. Like Nancy said, It is for DSM quuilters too. I like the fact it is not so hectic as many of the shows and it is all in one place.

I have a quilt at the show, but am unable to attend. I was told that I had received an award on it. Can someone let me know what happened with my quilt? It is in the theme category. Quilt is "Dreams of Futures Lost" by me, Karla Dahms.
                        Thanks a ton!
