Master Quilt Award at NQA!!!! OMG!!!!

Well here I am again tooting my own horn, but I am beyond excited to share with you all that my quilt, "Red Letter Daze" has won the Master Quilt award at the National Quilting Association show!!!!! The quilt was nominated by NQA certified judge and all around amazing quilter, Linda McCuean. The Master Quilt award is given to very few quilts, so to get this award is beyond my wildest dreams!! I also had the quilt entered in the NQA show where it also won Best in Show small quilt, 1st in it's category, and Best Embellishments (I do love the doo-dads!)!! It has been a whirlwind of a few days, as I got to go to the Preview Party and dinner in Columbus and had a fantastic time with fellow TQS quilter extraordinaire, Sherry Reynolds, who took away 1st place in her category, along with Best Piecing and Best Machine Quilting!! Way to go Ms. Reynolds!! We also realized we are kindred spirits, BFF's, and maybe just a little bit obsessed!!! Now back to reality!!

Janet and Sherry - Many congratulations!! These awards are very well deserved!! I got to see Red Letter Daze at MQS last year and was completely blown away (as I was by the quilts you had entered this year, too)!! And I've seen several of Sherry's quilts in person and, again, am just speechless! I made my family come to MQS this year and showed them the quilts that both of you had entered and they simply loved them, so nonquilters can also see the quality, workmanship and beauty of the quilts that both of you create! I'm extremely jealous, but in the best possible way!! You are both quilters extraordinaire and really nice people, the best combination I can think of!

Janet I am so delighted for you. That is such a beautiful quilt and a well deserved reward for all that meticulous work. I am so glad that you and Sherry met up and are BFFs - it is great to find a kindred spirit isn't it. I will raise a glass in both your honours tonight with my quilting friends. Congratulations.
