Wanda, thank you for making the arrangements for dinner for all of us. This was my first year to attend and I really enjoyed meeting everyone. Margo, thanks for bringing your quilts for us to see. They are even more amazing in person. Margarite, I really enjoyed seeing your show and tell. Your fabric really makes the blocks come alive. Some day soon I hope to start on my Dear Jane quilt. Thanks again to Debbie and Clara for all the work they did with the HST exchange earlier this year. Many friendships have blossomed because of it and it has become a very memorable time in my life. Dawn and Barbara, thank you for organizing the gifts for Debbie and Clara. Rosemary's handmade boxes are lovely and Dawn, you did a terrific job putting all of the blocks together. It has been such fun the last few days at Festival and I can't wait until next year.

Frances, I'm sorry I didn't get to see your quilt! Mike and I started talking to Justin and the time flew by. Please post pics when you can.
Wanda, thanks again for arranging such a memorable dinner. I was so nervous about meeting everyone that I almost didn't show, but I'm glad I did. We had a great time and even Mike can put names with faces now.
I'm going to really try to come back next year, but if I don't-I'll see you all in 2013!!!!!! 8)
Ricky's concert was the perfect ending to one of the most wonderful weeks of our lives. Thank you to ARJJ for starting this community-I now have friends all over the world.

I am home with wonderful memories of my 1st IQF! Thanks to Deb & Clara for starting such a wonderful project for freindship with the exchange, to Margo for keeping us all blogging and posting so much information, to Shirley my new fond quilting sister and room mate in Houston and to the Amazing Eight who shoed us what friendship and ingenuity can do. This was such a wonderful experience I am sorry I didn't go years ago. Thanks to Ricky, Alex, Justin and John for all you do to make TQS the best quilting web experience. Now I must unpack all the wonderful new supplies I bought!

We are back in Austin, at Frances and Greg's. Doing laundry then packing,
And dinner being cooked by # 1 Grandson, Chris.
We fly home to California early in the morning.
It was a great Quilt Show, Great TQS Dinner, and seeing people met before
and meeting new TQS members for the first time. Fun, fun.
Margarita from Auburn, CA in Austin TX for one more night.

Can't believe it's over for me, I am home, unpacking, laundry. But OH, what fun. It was great to see so many members again and definitely meeting new people. We blog, share, etc all year but it is always best to meet in person. Sorry I did not have enough time to spend with everyone but in my usual way, I overbooked myself. My highlight was a class on Friday with Libby Lehman, Floral Delights, can't wait to work some more on it; then attending her luncheon/lecture on Saturday (she is a hoot). Thank you AAJJ for making this all possible and to all members, yes even the UGHS, for sharing your journeys. Safe travels home, Pat

Hope everyone got home safely. We're halfway; Sevierville, TN. Laying low and doing some more recovering. I've still got Festival images spinning through my brain when I close my eyes. All of the quilts were so inspiring and intimidating at the same time. I came away with lots of ideas, how about you all?

 Good morning everyone! What a fabulous week at Houston! I needed a full day yesterday to recover from all the excitement and stimuli! I am so thankful for a fabulous week sharing a room with Maryjo who was a lot of fun and full of great ideas, for 6 classes with some of the "great teachers" in our quilt world, for a happy and fun time meeting everyone at the TQS dinner, for all the quilters who showed their beautiful work in the IQF show, but most of all...for meeting Alex for the first time, seeing Ricky for a second time, and finally meeting all of YOU at the TQS booth for 2 days! What an incredible quilt journey this has been! And...we now have until May 1, 2012 to enter our quilts in the SOS memory book! How cool is that? 8) 8) 8)
We do need to start a new thread about the Houston Experience because we all have a lot to show and tell, I'm sure!
Cheers and Hugs,
Shirley

I just wanted to say "Thank you, everyone!" From Wanda, for organizing the dinner, to those of you who came up to me to wish Terry and I well in our upcoming journey. I was so nervous about the presentation of the quilt blocks, and then so caught up in all of the other emotional stories, and hugs, etc, that I did not take even one picture at the TQS dinner! Dang! (If any of you would like to send some my way, I would be greatful!) This was a truely memorable trip! Many wonderful surprises and many amazing friendships were made, that will last a lifetime. And, a number of these latest frienships came about because of the SOTTT exchange! Thank you Debbie for that very first post where you volunteered to be the person to organize and receive ALL of those HSTs! Little did I know what an incredible friendship would grow from that! As Shirley Forster said at the dinner, "I love you all!"
