      Janet, I know that the "redwork" is actually free-motion machine embroidery! Could you possibly post some close-up photos for those of us who would love to get a good view of some of that??? And your piecing!! How big are those blocks? And your applique on the muttons? Beautiful!!

      Oh man...I need to see these gorgeous quilts!! Will they be at MQS???

          Oh, you guys are making me blush! Thanks so much for you very nice comments! I still can't believe it!
          Margo, they are both entered in MQS, as well as another quilt. The blocks on Red Letter Daze vary from about 4" to 12", and each one was appliqued to the background fabric. The whole quilt is 59x67. Here is a close up.

            Janet, you said the letters are appliqued to the background, but I can't see that. It looks to me like they are embroidered.

            However you did it, it's a stunning quilt!

            For everyone else, if you will click twice on Janet's detail photo you can see some of her exquisite work!

              Margo, the blocks are appliqued to the background, not the letters. The letters are free motion embroidered.
