water soliable thread and real thread
*sorry about the spelling mistakes!
Ricky i love your video, thank you.
small question:
i find very difficult to see after sewing with water soliable thread - where i saw with real thread and where i didnt.
how do you not miss places with the real thread?
i hope it is clear question.
thank you for answeringTags: None

I generally stitch in the ditch, or somewhere near it with the water soluble thread, then quilt inside the area, so that I'm just outlining the area to be quilted with the water soluble.
Also, the quilting thread I use is generally color coordinated with the quilt, and the water soluble is white...Lotti, Kuessnacht - Switzerland

the point is that i use very natural colors in my quilting.
and if you have a not complicated quilt pattern it is easy to see where i sew with thread and where not yet. but
if i have complicated pattern...then i lose some of the place, and see it only after i wash the quilt (sad)Lotti, Kuessnacht - Switzerland

I know exactly what you're talking about! I did a white wholecloth where I did trapunto using water-soluable thread and had a terrible time telling the water-soluable from the real thread. I could tell what I had done with real thread and what I hadn't by the amount of thread in each area. I also keep pins in areas that haven't been sewn yet and, if a notice an area I missed while working on another area, I quickly add a pin there to remind myself. So I didn't end up missing any areas. But I still had a problem figuring out where to do my travel stitching if the two stitching lines weren't together.
I sent a suggestion to Bob at Superior Threads to make a water-soluable thread of another color, but never heard back.

I don't know if this would help or not. Stitch with the water soluable thread in the bobbin and a regular thread that you can see on the top--it would have to be a different color than what you are going to use for your quilting. Then you could see to stitch and when the bobbin thread is washed out you can easily take off the thread on the top(you would need to be careful not to stitch on the thread--it won't come off as easily).
