Hi Dorene, nice done. It looks beautiful.

Well Girls, I told you that my Rhapsody book arrived and I did not sit still.
It is a start on my centrepiece and I am so anxious to work further on my Quilt.
But it have to wait till the weekend, there are other ting to do first.
I hoop we can see more of each other work in progress.
I put photo’s of my progress on my profile……..and also a few handbags

    6 December…….
My over will be hot this afternoon. I make some nice Speculaas. These are a kind of cookies with almond and cinnamon. Hhhuuummmmm it will smell nice and taste good.
On 6 December, Sinterklaas on his hors and zwarte Piet are coming to town. They are bringing goodies for children who were nice these years. No, no, this is not the same as your Santa Claus.
Ore Sinterklaas is dressed like a Bishop and his roots are Spain and bring oranges, toys, and Speculaas to the children. Zwarte Piet is his helper and he punishes children, who are bad.
However, we now there are no bad children.
    Now be good!
Place you shoe on the chimney, with a sugar lump and a carrot for the horse and you’re never now what you find in your shoe.

Lots of love from Belgium on Sinterklaas dag

We celebrate December 6 in our home too. We tell the children St. Nicholas is coming on his donkey and we leave carrots out in their shoes. In the morning there is candy waiting the the place of the carrots . This is not something everyone does around here though, it is just something we picked up doing when we taught the girls abot St. Nicholas last year. It kind of kicks off the Christmas season for them.

Elsie, the quilting is spectacular! Did you do it yourself, on a longarm, or domestic machine?

Congratulations on a beautiful work of art!

                            Thanks, everybody.

                            To answer your questions:
The skeleton design is of course mine. the appliques were adapted from two sources plus some of mine.

I did the quilting on a Janome 6500

Those tiny feathers were sort of addictive.
