Good point! I wonder if they can add attachments at some point. Of course, if I need a record of the whole conversation then I can just keep it in my email. so maybe they can add email as well as private messages, like we had before. (Or maybe that's there and I just haven't run across it yet....)

Lois--I responded to your PM, but it looks like it may have bounced back to me in my email. Did you get a reply from me??

This is because we have the 'Private message' function instead of the 'Email this person' function. On the old site we had both of these methods of communication. With the private message function you were able to store up to 50 messages on the site, and then to receive any more you had to delete the older ones - I found this out running WotRott.

Andrée the attachment is there but you have to go to the message in your profile to access it.

It's like karma. You don't have the cloud under your own avatar because you wouldn't send a PM to yourself.

Looks like it worked. I got a notice in my email, then clicked on the private message at the top of the forum. Nancy from STL also sent a message and some how I was able to answer her directly. Nancy's message came from TQS community. Oh boy, I am still confused, but will keep trying to learn this new site!

I just learned something new about messaging. When I'm responding to a post in the Forum, I see my avatar at the top of the page. To the right is a Private Messages link. Never knew it was there. It appears that my attempts have worked, I've just not received a response through TQS. I've sent Ritzy a trial message.

i have been successful at sending and recieving PM by using the cloud under member's avatar.

I seem to have lost my cloud, why? it was there when the new site started!

There is no cloud below the avatar on your own computer because you don't send yourself personal messages. Anne, I thought I had the same problem until someone straightened me out.
