    Who's a Star Member?

I thought that we are supposed to have a star by our screenname, if we are star members. Also, I cannot find an explanation of the meanings of Platinum, Elite, etc. member statuses. Can someone point me to it?

    Thanks in advance!

I think that the elite, platinum member etc refers to how often a person has posted on the forum. Although I think you only need about 500-800 to make it to platinum, but I could be wrong .

OK. So, how can I tell if you are or are not a star member? There's no star by the screen name, as before, and it's not shown on your profile. By the way, Rosemary, your profile indicates your gender as "male".

Don't worry about the gender thingy for the time being as we are all male at the moment. Although I am not too sure about Capt John (just checked- he is female) I did try changing my gender to the opposite, in my profile (which says female) but that didn't make any difference to the little picture. In the grand scheme of things I think that is one of the lessor problems to get fixed. We have not heard anthing about the Star membership notifications being re-instated as yet.

I noticed the gender mismatch the other day - I'll let Bob know and also ask about Star Member indicator.

I miss the stars too. I still would like to know what the different member descriptions mean.

I don't miss stars. I've been a member for 8 years and never got any stars. Waaaaa waaaa waaaa.

Something I just noticed - while we have no stars, we have elite, platinum, premium and senior members. Very interesting. Wanda, whatever did you do to become elite?

I was wondering about the different "members" also. I have been a member since the site started (I signed up before they actually launched the site). I haven't spent much time on the site the last few years, but always maintained my membership. It would be nice to have an explanation about the different levels, and how you get from one to another, if that is even possible.

The member level is just an indication of the number of posts you've made to the forums. The more posts you make, the higher your member level. It's an indication of activity on the site.

But is there a list of how "active" you need to be to get from one level to another?
