California and the Mega-Mega Storm

Alex,

I've been watching the news as this awful storm has been continuing and doing so much damage in your area. I'm all of the way across the country in North Carolina. I've been through several hurricanes but the California storm has been horrible in so many ways. How are you all doing? Just want to let you know that you and John, all of family and all of the CA folks are in my thoughts and my prayers.

I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area - some flooding in areas, but not as bad as the mud slides down in southern California. The fires a few months ago down there left hillsides with little vegetation to hold the soil. So very sorry for the families whose homes were lost or damaged.
