Alex - Thank You for the LeMoyne Star class!

Alex, I am truly enjoying the LeMoyne Star class. If you can teach me not to over-press you will have achieved a lot.

    Thank you for the class!

I also want to thank you for this class! I jumped at the chance to order your book and cannot wait until it arrives. The "pressing" information is invaluable!

Alex, I wondered the same thing. You didn't explain why you didn't press the center. I watched it twice thinking I'd missed it, but I watched you do the sides but you didn't go near the middle.???

Love love love the classes! I for sure have always done the inside seams first which now tells me why they didn't turn out well. Thanks Alex.

I agree, thank you so much for doing these classes. I have been wanting to do a Star but was not quite sure how to begin.

Maybe I'm hearing things... somehow I thought Alex didn't press the center because of stretching the bias. Whatever she says to do, I'll do. I've never seen such PERFECT centers on a Lemoyne Star as Alex's!!!

I knew the basics of making the lemoyne star, but it is wonderful to get the extra little tips (like the pressing) that is going to make all the difference. Thanks Alex.

Judy mc - you are right!!! The reason I don't press all the way to the center is because people over press - we will adress the entire block and pressing later on in the lesson..........in the case of this star, during the construction, you press simply to get the seams going into the right position to sew -

Okay, so I haven't watched any of Alex's videos for awhile, but the other day I spent some time catching up and watched most all of them.. the only ones I didn't watch were the ones on hand quilting... I may get to them eventually, but I know I won't ever quilt anything by hand, so was more interested in the other videos.

I'm glad Alex showed how to construct a Lemoyne star block. I have been thinking about making a Lone Star quilt, and have been putting it off, because I wasn't sure how to sew it all together. After watching the video from Alex, I'm sure I could accomplish this, I will think if it as a HUGE lemoyne star... I will be making some Lemoyne star blocks, for practice, and start planning a Lone Star quilt in the near future.

Thanks Alex...I love having a quilting teacher right here in my own home.... keep the videos coming. Are these videos going to be staying on the site?? If they are taken down, will there be a DVD made available so that we can refer back to them if we need to??

I used Alex's lessons on the LeMoyne Star to construct my huge LeMoyne Star Variation. Yes, the lessons still apply when the block is 85 inches square!

It is posted in my profile if you would like to see it.
