You ladies are really giving me a chuckle! I did not even keep up with this thread, because heck, I'm not in the UK and not going to the fabric sale! What was I thinking! Of course the thread was not going to stay on topic! I should know that by now! There are no irish lace curtains here, as we are buried under a foot of snow. None on the inside either! Not sure why, but I''m not complaining! As far as English goes, "I'm gonna nuke my joe, sit a spell, and then fix them vittles for the bread winner."

Awesome, Dawn!!
Years ago we had a family membership for the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds), and I took my young sons bird-watching a lot. It got us all out of the house, and was something we could do together. So I wasn't surprised when they were discussing 'birds' at breakfast and during dinner. Took me a day or two to realize that my sons' testosterone levels had gone up and they were discussing girls. It then intrigued me that they both seemed to be mainly interested in girls who were physically active ('fit birds'). It took me a little longer to work that one out. Languages are soooo 'mean'!

Many years ago some friends from my civil war society regiment were at a weekend muster at Scarborough (on the coast) and during some spare time (from bashing up roundheads) then went to see what they could see from & on the cliffs there. Ian had the binoculars and was looking along the beach at the sun bathers, whilst Jean was looking at the edges of the cliffs, the conversation was as followsOriginally posted by LorchenAwesome, Dawn!!

Regretably, he passed away some years ago. The one thing about Ian was not to let him sit on anything - he could bust anything he sat upon, directors chairs he had to replace annually, I seem to recall he also damaged a cold box by sitting on it  But there was always a lot of good humour and a lot of 'charactors' in our regiment, & ECWS as a whole. 8)From the edge of Sherwood Forest, home of Robin Hood
