    Let's travel again! :)

I bet I'm not the only one who hasn't got time to read the blogs regularly. So I only today found Lotti's wonderful report (with gorgeous pictures) about her trip to Dresden. If you are interested, you can find it here:

Lotti, did you buy yourself one of those large Lebkuchen hearts? My son bought one for his partner when they went to the Christmas Market in Köln some years ago. The whole family helped her eat it over the Christmas days.

Thanks you very much for the pictures, Lotti. Brings back memories of a day in Dresden with my grandmother in the early 1960s. At that time there was still a lot of the bomb damage from the war. It's very different today.

    thank you, lorchen.
no,no lebkuchen hearts for me - although there were plenty - but i don't like lebkuchen.
but the dresdner stollen was yummmmm -even with the raisings - normally i don't touch those with a ten foot pole (the only way i consider raisins edible is in their liquid state... )
yes, it's amazing how much work has gone into that city - they really did a great great job. when i first read that so much was rebuilt in the old style, often exactly like before i thought that rather strange - but when you actually see the result, it is understandable why that was so important. there are still some places and buildings in their bombed out / shut state but no too many. and they mainly give us an idea of what it was like. sometimes good to see reminders!
