    Denmark and Art

It just came up in the Bernina section when Norma in Denmark posted something and I asked her where she actually lives. I guess I better share this in the correct section. In the 1960s I took part in an exchange with Denmark that was organized by my school in Hamburg. I had a wonderful time in and around Herning, and Norma doesn't live far from there. Besides learning how to ride a bike, one of my most vivid memories is that I was taken to a shirt factory that was housed in a very modern, totally round building. The outside was almost all solid concrete wall, but there was a lot of glass on the inside and the whole building was flooded with natural light. The manufacture of the shirts was in a round area in the centre and that was surrounded by a walkway (think 'donut') that was used by the owner of the factory as an art gallery. It was full of a very eclectic mix of then contemporary art. I just loved it. The mix of industrial and art was simply brilliant. If you look at the link below, the project has developed since then. I wish I could just teleport over and have a look at what it's like now.

Thank you, Norma, for triggering my memories!

OK Lorchen, we'll do the education here. I posted on the other thread before I read this one, so here is a link

You could teleport yourself to my place and we could go there together. There is so much to see . In the city they have a museum where they often have shown different quilt exhibitions but I'm often too busy to get there. Too bad.

    See you in Denmark.

Thank you soooo much, Norma! And with an online translator I had no problem at all with the Danish!
