I'm from the US, but I read your UK postings regularly to see what quilters abroad talk about.

Is your Festival of Quilts the UK equivalent of our AQS show in Paducah, Kentucky? Our International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas?

We have some smaller regional ones, but these are the big ones in the US.

Beth, it's the biggest quilt show in Europe, but it's not as big as Houston..... Plenty big enough for me.

Woo hoo, the quilts are all hung, there are less this year than last, but there are some real quality pieces. The traders will set up tomorrow, I can't wait to see the whole thing together. Don't envy the person who has to do the hoovering tomorrow though

Hi Ali, are you involved with FoQ as an organiser? Only it sounds as if you have been hanging quilts there!!!!! Are they yours, or just all that have been sent? So, will you be there on Thurs. if so, where? and have you a stall? If so, would like to meet up with you! So many questions, so little brains! ops:

Well home from FoQ and am to quote Ali, cream crackered!!!!! Didn't get to see most of you, but did meet Lorchen and Della, so two down, and loads to go!!!!! There were some amazing quilts, they quite took your breath away, in fact, I couldnt choose just one as a favourite as there were so many different styles and techniques! :? But the workmanship was outstanding and some must have taken years to complete. I hope everyone who attended had a good time, it is really too big for one day visit, and I will have to consider doing what Lorchen and Della are doing and stay a couple of days next time. So, best wishes to you all

Sorry to have missed you Lynn, I haven't been on the forum for a few days. I do get involved with the quilt hanging (just the regular quilts, not the special galleries), there is a bunch of us who help, but I'm not involved in the organisation thank goodness  . I was on the team that hung the contemporary quilts this year. I've been doing workshops for the last couple of days, so will be looking round the show proper tomorrow and Sunday. I did get a sneak preview of the quilts , as you say there are some wonderful pieces. Sadly there aren't as many as previous years, probably because of the change in the categories last year, but what is there is definitely worth seeing.

                            Hi Lorchen and Della
Nice to have met up with you both at FoQ, did you have a good visit? I was envying you spending days there, but was I pooped by the time I got home. What workshops did you attend, make sure you post your results for us to look at. Hope to meet up with some more of you at other venues to come.
