More beautiful muggies from your hand, Heather.
Do they do the pebbles with two colors on the sidewalk or is that just the fabric?

the sidewalk is in 2 colors as well. I have a quilt design in my head for a whole quilt done in various themes of the cobblestone designs....the wave pattern (on the back of the muggies) is the most common, but there are sometimes birds (swallows) and flowers as well, and different businesses will put different things in front of their business.

Here is a shot of the sidewalk in the city where we lived; if you google "Copacabana Boardwalk" you can see more.

Oh wow! All mosaic! At first I though they would be like "regular shaped"cut stones or bricks. This is fabulous!

What a piece of art, and that's everywhere?

Great mug rugs ladies and Heather thanks for the suggestion of looking at Copacabana sidewalks. I had a look and they are fabulous!

Nancy, you did absolutely fabulous work with the feathers on that beautiful pink silk fabric. I'm going to practice just as soon as I get off this laptop.

The thread used on Heather's muggie is a variegated metallic by Superior. The fabric was too plain and I wanted to try a "whole cloth" idea so used parts of a template for the swirls, then quilted around them with the pebbles. It didn't take too long, just a bit slower due to the metallic thread--it does not like speed!!

The other is a fabric "coaster" made using 5 5" squares of fabric 4 of which are folded on the diagonal, laid overlapping each other on top of the 5th (which is right side up). Stitch around the outside edge, turn the whole thing right side out (or inside out, however you think about it) so that the unfolded bottom piece is now right side out, I stitch all the edges down but that isn't necessary. This is just a fun way to use those little 5" squares of fabric most of us have laying around. A set of 4 from the same fabric line makes a nice and quick gift.

Heather, I hope your muggie didn't get sidetracked...it was sent the same day as Andree's so thought yours would have arrived easily by now.

                              Dear dear Muggers,
I readily admit that I have pages of messages to catch up on, and that won't happen tonight!.

However, I must offer a big shout out of thanks to Nancy for a beautiful Easter mugrug that greeted me when I arrived home a little while ago from Paducah. It's beautiful and fits in with this fabulous spring weather here on the east coast.

I'll post a picture tomorrow, I'm still to wired to know what to do first right now.

I have a number of ideas for new mug rugs, a good thing since I owe a few!

                              Grinning.....
