Lorchen--I would have a very difficult time putting anything on any of my lovelies. They are each a piece of art from my TQS family all around the world. Especially if I were eating shortbread cookies, nope best to leave them hanging like art in my studio.
As for your "little darling" and his "prank"--I work with the mentally disabled, learning disabled and emotional disabled at school too and I always wonder when the attack will happen. I have given those in the emotional disabled and the regular class rooms notice: if they assult me in any way--I WILL press charges. I will probably lose my job if I do, but there is no reason for them to get away with something, in school, that they will not be able to get away with in the real world. And yes, Rosemary, there are many who make excuses for them but since the law will not let me do to their parents what the parents think it is alright for the little darlings to do to me--I will not except those excuses.
Continued congratulations on the weight loss.
Geneva--congratulations to you on the new grandbaby.
And, speaking of grands--my little Eli came to visit last weekend. So let me tell you a story. Since he has been learning to talk--he has not been able to say grandma. I would say GRANDma to him and he would say MA-ga to me. So, we accepted this, not knowing if he was dyslexic or just couldn't hear the sound. He also does this with the word "Glasses". So, while visiting, the other grands were here too. My eldest daughter was in my studio working on her mug rug and Eli went in there to explore. He found my M & M's and asked for some. His auntie said he should go ask grandma. I am in the living room and I hear this darling (for really) little voice yelling GRANDMA! The little imp has been holding out on me. Was that because he didn't know who he was calling? Nope--he went right back to calling me Ma-ga as soon as he got his M & M's!

Beautiful feathers on the mug rug you mad for Lorchen, Nancy. And the fabric is fabulous! Well done, too, Lorchen, on the weight loss (not an easy task at our age so you must be very diligent) and your quilts traveling to Canada. Geneva, have fun with your new home and be sure to get it exactly how you want it--much less expensive now that remodeling later.

Oh Lorchen, how terrible! It was inexcusable of the boy, but I have to believe (in order to maintain my faith in humanity) that, at his age, he didn't realize how much damage he might have done to you. It's still inexcusable, but I have to hope. And I really hope that there is no permanent damage and you feel completely back to normal soon. That was very thoughtful of the boy down the street and I believe there are many more like him than like the first boy!
Definitely use and enjoy the mug rug! The sky dyes are supposed to be washable and stood up just fine to being soaked in water when I was removing the marks for the feather stems. So it should be okay, even if you spill a little. If nothing else, a spill will add more character and give you more of a story to go along with the mug rug!
Geneva - I would like to get on your list if you don't mind waiting until after Christmas. I've got a bunch of sewing to do for Christmas so can't commit to anything else until I finish that!
I have a beautilfy mug rug from Wendy that I will be sharing soon. I took pictures this morning, but it's sitting on a card with 1000's of pictures from Houston that I just haven't had the stamina to download yet. If I don't get to it this week, I'll definitely do it next weekend. You guys really need to see the beauty that I received! Wendy is such an artist!!

Lorchen, your mug rug from Nancy is beautiful, but then all Nancy’s work is beautiful. Terrific Sky Dye fabric. I love the feathers, I wish I could do that. Use the mug rug for, as Nancy says, it is washable.
I also loved all your cross stitch Santas. I take it cross stitch really relaxes you?
That was really thoughtful of the neighbour and her son. Just shows there are a lot of nice people around.
Congratulations on the weight loss. It is extremely hard as you get older to maintain never mind lose it. I put on more lbs on my 4-day retreat than I did in 2 weeks in France, go figure. :?: :?: :?: :?:

Better quality food, cooked from scratch, without adding sugar to every dish? Or it might just have been all the snacks we need to maintain our sewing speeds :wink:Originally posted by scottishquilterI put on more lbs on my 4-day retreat than I did in 2 weeks in France, go figure. :?: :?: :?: :?:

Geneva, I would love to exchange with you, but can't commit to doing it until after Christmas. If you send me your address, I will put you on my list.
Lorchen, I think you should use it and enjoy the beauty of it at the same time. The colors go very well with the single malt.
Congrats on your quilts going to Canada.
You are fabulous still losing weight.

Lorchen, so sorry for what the child did to you. I really admire teachers and school bus drivers! I have no patience for kids like that and I would probably be arrested. I do not believe in abusing a child, but I am not against physical punishment. Maybe that is the reason for all the unrulely children now, they are not punished. I also attribute some of the ADHD to children not being given chores to do and consequences if they are not done. OK, I will get off my soapbox now. Hope I did not offend anyone.

I have at last got my act together and have posted out some mug rugs.
The majority have been made for a while but I just haven’t had time to go to the Post Office to post them.
I have posted one each to Lorchen, Lois, Lottie, Nancy, Norma, Renata, Terrie, and Wendy. Gosh, I have been busy.
I have only Connie, Limbania and Rosemary still to do.
Is there anyone else I have missed :?: :?: :?:
