So glad Terrie is home and recovering!

The mug rugs just keep getting better -- love it!

I'm planning mine out, not sure I'll make them before my move, or after.....but when January arrives, I should have some ready to go Grateful this is an on-going, no-deadline sort of thing so I can be part of the fun!

Really a wonderful use of the wool bits; and the couching is a lovely touch. I'm with Rita--wish I'd thought of that too.

Glad you liked the wool mug rug Rita. Thanks for giving me the wool. I still have quite a bit left over.

BTW, I'm not really as clever as you all think. You see, I tried to sew the squares together but the seam allowances were too bulky. So, smart as I am, I placed the wool squares on a piece of Ricky's stable stuff that I covered with wonder under. I pressed it all and started to couch the green wool string. But the white stable stuff showed through and It looked stupid! So I took the wool squares off the stable stuff (they didn't stick anyway!), placed them on some black fabric, sewed the couching down and viola! Finally successful!

In any case, I'm having fun with you all trading mug rugs. I learn all sorts of stuff!

              Take care,

Very clever, Geneva! And no one would have known either as it looks perfectly done. Good idea, though, when using wool for piecing as the seams would be very bulky I would think. Thanks for sharing.

We're learning too Geneva that's a good tip and smashing mug rug, quite different

That's the thing about these mug rugs, we learn by our mistakes but at least they are small ones! When I was making the wool quilt for my son I found that a 1/2" seam allowance was better with wool and pressing the seams open made them less bulky. Anyway, I love it even more now that I know how much trouble you went to to get it just right.

Rita, the wool you gave to Geneva is wonderful. I never see any plaids or wool here that is as pretty as those. Guess I need to live where it is necessary to wear wool to be able to find the good stuff. Anyway, great job Geneva.
