Geneva - I really like your mug rug. I love all the novelty fabric that is coming out now.

Well, I found my add-a-quarter ruler and not the gloves. I will continue using the gardening gloves, but maybe I don`t have such comfortable ones as you gals mention. Back on deck today in the tea room.

Hmm...it seems like the mug ruggers are starting to go at it again.

I`m not ready to begin to swap again.

Terrie, I use surgical gloves for FMQ. (Those blue ones like the doctors and nurses use during exams.) I have tried everything over the years, and have given up on most. My favorite, before the gloves was a small piece of shelf rubber, placed between my hands and the quilt. But, now I use the gloves, powder the insides, and when I feel a need for my hands to breath, I just peel them off, take a break, and put on a fresh pair. They are so thin that I can even use my small scissors without removing them. They come in small, medium, and large, so you can get the perfect fit. My husband will sometimes bring me home some from work, or my doctor will give me a few pairs. But, you can buy a whole box of dozens for under $10. Happy FMQing!

Thanks, Dawn, I may try them. Good idea!

I have some that I use when I handle raw cold chicken, as I am very sensitive to cold, and I really don't like putting my hands into the raw stuff and guts! Yicky!

I have just ordered the GRABEROOS as mentioned by Lee McComas on the latest TQS show.
What a great show that was...a very talented lady.

Terrie - I'm using Machingers gloves by Quilters Touch and Quilt Sew Easy Discs by Heavenly Notions for machine quilting. Really like the Machingers gloves ($8.50 retail at local local quilt show).

Anne, have you ever used Machingers? And if so how do they compare with the Graberoos?

                    Comment

Just checked both pictures on Amazon and they look very similar--finger tips on the Machingers have full rubberized coverage whereas the Graberoos have rubberized dots. And the Machingers are less expensive--found one seller where you can buy 2 pair for $13.99 USD and one pair for $8.40. I haven't used the Graberoos but really really like the Machingers.

Here's my mug rug from Geneva. I love the fabrics but when I look closer it's maybe from one patterened piece. The thread is lovely too and I like the way you've quilted stars in the stars. Wow. Thank you

Glad you like it Wendy. The dot fabric is a Kaffe Fasset fabric. Those are the scraps from this:
