I put the thermal batting in silver side up but don't know if that's right. The rats tail cord is a satin cord, girls are made of feathers and mud!

I did lots of steps and detail after showing others how to do it and realising its the little instructions that make it go right.
Said simply it's trim piece. zig zag round it. zig zag on your trimming. Is that easier

Okay, stupid question here.......do all mug ruggers use thermal batting in their mug rugs? I just thought they were made with a couple layers of regular quilt batting, like cotton or 80/20. Since a mug of coffee, tea, or coco is hot, but night right off of a burner, why is the thermal batting necessary?

No its first time I've used it. I bought some to make pot holders.

Guess what came in the mail today from the UK. ? :woohoo: A beautiful mug rug from Wendy! I was so excited! I showed my husband and my sons and my next door neighbor. She was excited too. (She has chickens too.)
Everyone wanted to hold it and look at it for awhile. Made them all smile!

I love the little leaves and the log cabin and the finish. I am a Kaffe fan too. Thank you for posting the directions on how to do the finish.

Wendy, The mugrug I am doing for you is not finished yet. My Bernina has been very bad lately. It greedily gobbles up thread in the bobbin case area and won't let it go. I had to take it back to the dealer. It stopped in the middle of a row of decorative quilting on your mugrug. (See below) So it will be a little longer. I am sorry about that.

None of my muggies have thermal batting in. (I think Wendy is just 'swanking' because she has got some! :P )

                   that's right.

How frustrating Judith, mine started jamming and I found it was a tiny nick on one of my bobbins. Must have happened during one of my misadventures. I filed it down and no further problems, just a thought. But your problems probably fluff jamming it somewhere, I hope it's something simple. Anyway no rush it's nice to have something to look forward to. It'll go further than the neighbours to be shown off when it arrives. :cheer:
I'm pleased mine gave you a sunny moment.
