Will be thinking of you Lisa, wishing you the best of luck, and we'll do a swap when your back into sewing condition.
Good thinking... Yup it's best to be prepared, when I was supposed to operate my right hand a few years ago, I cooked ahead for a month ( basically just cooked two extra portions with every cooked meal, all individual portions in the freezer... bought a small little frying pan and organized all kinds of things I could handle with my left hand only... Then the operation got cancelled and I could live the easy life for two months.
When I broke my foot, I strapped a small pouch to the cast where I could keep the most important things to have with me all he time (phone, pen, Kleenex and a change purse with credit cards and a little money), worked a treat. Purses do not work well when hopping along with crutches..Lotti, Kuessnacht - Switzerland

Lotti, you're 'on' for May. An in-person swap and a visit to the local quilt shop and a cuppa something with your mum. I can't wait! I know she likes fish! Do you want the Dickie Bird Mat to match your new hair-do?
Rosemary, seems like you've turned over a mat, I mean rock here in the lounge...lizards are poking out from everywhere...and you're gonna get one from me, and I don't know when that will be.Lotti, Kuessnacht - Switzerland

This is so cool! I'd love to be involved. It would be lovely to have something else from the SoTTTs and WotRoTTs! ....and the "lounge lizards" I haven't met yet too!
I'm open to offers from everyone. I think, if I'm being realistic, I could manage to do 2 each month. Would love to do more but we'll have to see see how we go ..........as my favourite singer, Newton Faulkner, says "sometimes life gets in the way"
Rosemary, Lois, Lotti and Terrie - do you have a spot for me on your lists?

Lisa, sorry to hear that you'll be recuperating from surgery, but hopefully the result will make all the inconveniences along the way worthwhile. I have a tip for you... A few years ago I broke my hip in a bicycling accident. During my convalescence on a walker, then crutches, my best friend was a carpenter's apron. It had pockets big enough to hold a sandwich (and other necessities), but not so long that it got in the way or tempted me to carry too much.
I would love to swap mug rugs with you when you're "back in the saddle".
Sue, I'm available any time for the swap!
As far as the rest of you lovely ladies, I'm too new to qualify as a Lounge Lizard, so I guess that makes me a Lounge Larva. I would be thrilled to do at least one swap across an ocean, if anyone has room on their dance card!

Hi you sweet ladies! Thanks for the good wishes, SO much! Words fail me....
I'll have a torso "cast" that velcros on, at first.. but I should be able to put my hip-holster/bag over the top. Great ideas Lotti and Connie! It's exactly those types of things I want to keep close once DH is back at work and I'm home alone. I am blessed to have great friends here in our neighborhood, who have offered to make a schedule to check in on me, and hang out when I am doing stuff that requires a person in the room for safety. Aren't they the coolest?
And yes, Wendy, I have that "food trouble" all the time already, but 90% of the time I avoid messing my shirt by bending way far forward. Last night I was brushing my teeth... and I thought.... "hey, you won't be able to do this post-surgery! you won't be able to bend forward to wash your face at the sink either... what can you do about this?" And I started to think about bibs, etc... and ways to put things at reachable height that I now have to bend over to grab. It's a weird process to think about, at a relatively young age.
And Lotti, Nancy, Robyn and Connie... I LOVE that you're willing to trade Mug Rugs with me down the road, once I'm sewing again! Woohoo! I'm so jazzed! You don't know me from Adam yet, but you're reaching out regardless! Big hugs to you!
Big hugs to EVERYBODY!

I have more saved, but this message keeps blanking out while I'm on the other tab collecting the next URL. They are usually large enough for a mug of your favorite beverage, and one or more baked goodies to eat with said beverage

Hey Robyn, fab that you're in this too. I obviously need a mug rug from scamp's mom. He's my absolute hero!
Connie, if you're not booked yet, I'd love to be one of your over-the-ocean's
Actually, I would love to swap with everyone of you lovely friends here on TQS... But I do know that won't be possible... Well not in the near future anyway...
I'll try to do one a month and that should get us on the road...Lotti, Kuessnacht - Switzerland
