Ideas are interesting....I like round robin projects...as they involve everyone with each quilt. It is so nice
to have a bit of everyone's work. I've done round by round, row by row and I saw one done round,
but each side was a different maker ! Lots of people in that one ! Would require some mailing and some
time requirements.....could by mystery or not....the row one I did...we didn't know whose quilt we were
working on until the big reveal at the end !! There were 7 of us and all were super ! Picture challenges look fun, too.
Journal page quilts might be fun, too....maybe a little harder to stay committed where someone else isn't
"involved" as it were....I've done some guild challenges over the years that were fun, too.....Pick a topic, make
a quilt a certain size,etc., Maybe use a special fabric....Well....lets keep talking !

Didn't mean to confuse you or anyone. They (the rest of the world besides the US?) don't have the same paper size that we do. We have letter, legal and who knows what else and each isn't 1/2 of the size before it. It's just different and probably doesn't matter. if we want a particular size we just need to specify.

I was going to mention that the name Filanderers has something to do with thread as I recall someone telling me years ago but thought I better get it from the horse’s mouth so I asked one of the group and this is her reply: -
"A philanderer is a man who "loves" and has relationships with many different women. We love and have relationships with everything to do with thread - woven, stitched, etc. French for 'thread' is 'fil', so we liked the idea of substituting 'fil' for 'phil' in Filanderers! It would not have seemed so amusing if there was any philandering going on, but we are such upright souls! "
Now you know.

Wendy, I was never normal   but yes, I am slowly getting back my get up and go which had got up and went and taking things easy. I taught a workshop yesterday and that’s the last workshop I will be teaching plus classes for the summer.Originally posted by twigletNow we know.
Thanks Maureen, Are you feeling more normal now
My group Threadlines are having another 4 day workshop next week on Indigo and Shibori but this time including colour. We are having another exhibition next year called ‘Marks and Stitches’ so will be working towards that and I am really looking forward to getting messy and “playing”.
While I am here, I would just like to say a thank you to all of you who personally wrote to Kim to thank her for taking the photos of our Chinese Whispers quilts and putting them on flikr and Powerpoint plus letting me send her photos to you all. It was much appreciated especially as she was ill at the time.
She is coming along fine now and looking forward to her 50th birthday which is next month. I have been put in charge of the task of not letting her husband hold a surprise party for her as she would absolutely hate it and he would be in the doghouse forever and ever

So happy to read you're getting up and going Maureen. Sounds like you'll still be very busy, but having fun too.
Very glad to hear Kim is getting better and wish her a very happy birthday. I just turned 50 myself (Jun14) and although I don't feel that different, it's amazing to realize I've been here for half a century     , specially when last year I really doubted I was going to make it. But here I was, celebrating my 50th birthday and what I consider my 1st re-birthday, since a year ago on that day I had the last chemo treatment and at the time I really thought that if cancer didn't kill me, chemo would. Thankfully, here I am. Still dealing with some uncertainties since just found out from my last blood work that the tumor markers have gone up, slightly below the upper limit. So now I started a new treatment to make sure those markers go down ASAP. If they don't, will have a pet scan to find out what's gong on.
