Rosemary, FoQB 2014, that's the plan. Maybe I will enter a quilt too - if I ever finish one again. I have spent today trying to put the applique pieces onto the BOM. The blasted bondaweb keeps causing the edges to fray, very frustrating. However, I am almost there now. Between this one and my reels quilt I have an awful lot of applique to stitch down. :?
Wendy, thank you for that kind offer and I might take you up on it sometime, but really I was referring to the thrill of discovering things while you shop at festival. I can survive until the K&S show here in November.

Nancy, The beautiful quilt behind Rita and carol is by TQS member Ron Bedard. It is a Sue Garman TQS BOM in Southwestern colors called 'It waits for Dawn' which is a Navajo constellation.
Rita, it was so good to meet you. Yes, we have a definite date for Birmingham in 2014.
It was the exhibition of award winning quilts from international shows that attracted me to the show and it was well worth going to see. I spent a very long time absorbing the beauty and detail of these quilts. A lot of them I had seen in photos and on websites, but as we all know pictures dont do justice to quilts. To see them in person, this side of the pond was amazing!!!
In leafy Berkshire, south of England.

I had a good laugh when I picked my son up from his exam yesterday. He was doing CSPE (Civic, Social and Political History) and he is 14 years old. No study was done for this subject. One of his questions was -
Q: 2013 is European Year of the C-----?
A: 2013 is European Year of the Caterpiller!
Q: R----- O----- the name of the person who tells us the results of an election?
A: Reader Outer!
It is lovely to have a moment of merriment in an otherwise high pressure series of weeks while they slog through their exams during the best weather we have had in years!

Hey, this is off subject. Nothing new! Anyway, somewhere we were talking about cutting mats and Marilyn mentioned the odor of Omni-grid mats. Well, I had mine away because I was using my cutting table for something else. When I got it out and wobbled it around a bit today I noticed a distinct not so pleasant oder. Hmm.... She's right. By the way I got back to my sewing machine for a little bit today for the first time in a very long time. Just wanted you all to know I just love the sound of that machine running. I feel so much better now. I also had to do some yard work. It rains here in the east and if you don't mow the grass you end up having hay and my lawn mower won't cut it. I'll try to keep the yard work in better balance folks. I do know my priorities.
