Glad you liked the Limerick Limbania - I hoped it might cheer you up.

I just thought I would mention that we have our first next of swallows in the garden today. A little later than usual but then it has been colder than usual. If it weren't for the showers of hail every half hour or so I could begin to think that summer is on it's way.

Still cold here too, but at least we are not getting the hail. We are supposed to be getting rain all tomorrow (if I was listening to DH properly - he always checks the forcasts, I just wait and see what happens  ) Whoppee  going canoeing, still since I was thinking that I would be practising capsize drill, I doubt that it will make a lot of difference in the long run

The LLQS finished on Saturday 15th May, which was another great show. I had a day off on the Sunday to rest, as it had been a hectic few weeks. I was going to upload my photos to the computer and put some here but I started new medication that weekend and took a bad reaction to them so have been laid up in bed for a week. Started feeling human again yesterday and when I am back to normal I will show the photos. Meanwhile, go to http://www.lochlomondquiltshow.com/c...iltshow13.html to see the winners of the competitions

Welcome back Maureen, sorry to hear you've not been well. I don't suppose the stress from the show helped. Just going to have a look at your link

One of the exhibitors at the LLQS was Frieda Oxenham. She had her 52 Journals in 2012 on display. If you go to her blog http://friedaquilter.blogspot.co.uk/ and click at the side on 52 Journals in 2012 you can see them all. I found it hard to take photos of them, as there were always a lot of people around them. Scroll down her blog and you will see some of them in the church. Beautiful work.

The wonderful spread of quilts in aid of the Alzheimer’s Scotland 'Yes we Can - Together' project. They were in Jamestown Church over every pew, what a sight. You walked into the church and were greeted with beautiful quilts of all different colours. Over 200 quilts were donated at the show. They have collected nearly 5,000 quilts to cover Hampden Park Football Stadium. http://www.annhillquilter.co.uk/alzh...t-project.html

Sorry to hear you have not been well Maureen and I hope you are completely recovered soon. I was just reading Frieda's blog and if she was exhausted from the show then you must have been also - perhaps that added to your problems with new medication? Her work is fascinating. Are the journal quilts very small? I am wondering how she did those and other things as well because they look like a lot of work in themselves.

While looking at her blog I scrolled down to a link for missing quilts. Here's the link: http://lostquilt.com/

One of the missing quilts was a tiny yo-yo quilt that was apparently on display at the quilt museum in Paducah this year. It is terrible to think that people just walk in and take these prized possessions without a thought for the emotional connections people make with their work or for those who are the recipients.

Heartening to see some are recovered.

Those journal quilts are gorgeous and inspiring, I shall keep going back and looking at them
