No apologies necessary. Just enjoy one another, the show and Scotland. Take lots and lots of pictures and post them when you get home. We will enoy them later knowing that you are having a very good time. Thanks.

That reminds me, Maureen we have to sort out a way of paying you for returning these quilts to us?

Perhaps those who are at the show can help Maureen decide how it will be done and let us know how to reimburse the costs.

Lorna volunteered to send the American contingency quilts back to the USA from her military base so please get in touch with her regarding postage. She brought a suitcase just for them. Wendy and Rosemary are taking their own back and Wendy has said that she will post Rita’s to her which is very kind of her.

We had a really lovely evening having a meal and talking non-stop. Kim, her husband Guy and my sister Irene joined us. They couldn’t keep up with the conversations of us lot

It was fabulous to meet the three of you and spend time with you. I already miss you, I hope we will all meet again

What a great photo! Thanks for sharing.
Let's see if I remember... Raw edge appliqué. The black in the center butterfly is one piece. I cut out the black fabric where the orange fabric was set to prevent too much bulk. The four orange wings are made from an ombre orange fabric. That's where the change in color comes from. I glue basted it and then used a decorative stitch to "draw" the lines in the wings and secure all the raw edges. I also glue basted the "butterflies" in the border and then outlined them with black thread using a blanket or zigzag stitch. For the quilting I used a custom size and width decorative stitch in a meandering or linear way and some stitch in the ditch. Hope all this makes sense.
