Well I didn't get washed out to sea, and arrived home today to find Lois's quilt sitting quietly on the doorstep waiting for me

Thanks to Lois for sending me a picture before I went away, I was able to start thinking about it, but when I put pencil to paper DH looked at the first scribblings and said that it was far too simple for me to be doing  - I'd hardly got started by that point

Welcome back, Rosemary! Glad you had a nice time on holiday. Best wishes on the Chinese Whispers journey--have fun with it!

Rosemary, tell your DH that I am very happy for you to keep it simple! Good luck with it and I look forward to seeing it soon. I have lost track of how long we are supposed to have to work on the quilt. Renata, I know you are good at this kind of thing...??? When will I expect to be freaking out from the stress?

Rita, I just looked at the spreadsheet Maureen provided us. Since Rosemary was not home when the package probably arrived, if we assumed that on her arrival home today from holiday, 21 August is her official start date, by my calculation, she must have it posted to you no later than 11 October. If the start date is tomorrow, 22 August, on the assumption she got home late today, then she must post it NLT 12 October to you.

Nancy's quilt arrived to me close to the end of the day so I claimed the next morning bright and early as my start date. However, that will be sorted out between Rosemary and Maureen. I'm just giving you an idea of what to expect. When you receive Rosemary's quilt, then you will count 51 days to get the date by which you must post yours to Wendy.

Rita, I'm sure Maureen will update our spreadsheet--then you can calculate for sure when you will have to start sweating the small stuff!

Rosemary can quake in her boots now... you can still take it easy! Or go clean your sewing room and get ready!!!

Clean my sewing room? Noooo, I am sure I will find a much more inopportune moment to do that, like right in the middle of working on my CW quilt. I am definitely feeling the tremors already.

                        Comment

At the time of my CW quilt, I had totally miscalculated the deadlines and thought we each had 60 days to complete our quilts, not 51 days. So when I got the word from Nancy that she was getting ready to mail the quilt and sent me a photo of hers to ponder, I was nowhere near ready, and had definitely not cleaned my sewing room. Being number 5 on the list, I erroneously thought I still had over a month to go, but the quilt arrived anyway! At least you won't make that mistake! You're now confident that you should receive your quilt about 14 October, right? It does not take more than two days for a package to get to you from Rosemary, does it?

                          Comment

Actually it can take up to a week to get to us from the UK. But it doesn't usually take that long from here. For example Terrie's mug rug only took 5 days from here to Canada, and Norma's only took 3 days from here to Denmark. Post can be a tricky pancake and a peculiar beast.

Well, I was quaking while Marilyn was still working on her quilt, but then I'm a worrier....

No matter how simple, I know yours will be incredibly beautiful and the workmanship will be perfect, Rosemary, so do whatever design makes you happy. I'm just counting the days now until we get to see all of the quilts!
