Yes, I second that, Can I tell you all that I learned to quilt through TQS. My first quilt top was a baby crib size Irish Chain from Alex's start quilting book 11 years ago. I didn't quilt it until 6 years later when I joined TQS. I was teaching machine sewing for 9- 16 year olds and I thought it would be nice to add a new class the next summer. Alex came to King of Prussia, PA for a trunk show and I got in line for her to sign my book, I asked her how could I learn more , my kids were still young and it was hard to get out to a class in the evenings. She told me about TQS and the on line lessons that she was teaching. I signed up and the rest is history. The quilting class I teach is actually more popular than the garment sewing class now. I have learned so much from Margos tips for the BOM and Alex, Ricky and all of the quests instructions. I remember the first season, my kids picked the drive in movie back drop and we sat together and watched the shows. My kids were home schooled back then and my then 5th grade son made a quilt block from one of the guests books that we ran and checked out of the library.
Just want you all to know that you are having a great impact in peoples lives.

Hi Everyone,
When I was getting out the bag of hst's from our trades, I found a bag of hst's I had made using Asian fabrics - turned out I had more than enough to make Edyta's Tree of Life quilt. I had used a black and white Asian print for all of the hst's and had enough left to use for the background. I used a variety of black print Asian fabrics for the tree trunks and carried out the Asian theme with a bamboo print for the setting triangles.
The hst's that were left over went in with the 500+ from our trades that I still have to use.
I am getting ready to start one of Edyta's patterns using the strips from our strip exchange. I hope to get a picture in by Sept. 1

Hurray! It's all put together. The quilt doesn't quite fit on my design wall but you can see most of it. Margo, your words of wisdom helped with my decision about the outer border. I wanted to use corner blocks but was concerned that making the border 8 inches wide to work with the blocks would be too wide. However I saw your post saying yours was that width and decided to go for it - I'm very happy with the results.
Now I need to decide how to quilt it. Any ideas are very welcome. I've been thinking maybe an overall swirly design in the center and soemthing else in the borders. Or a design in the pinwheel blocks and something else in the tan areas. Or . . .
