Maryjo Enjoy this time you have earned it, very soon you will be as busy as when you were working, there are still not enough hours in th day. I went back to work but if I don't feel like going I stay home, then it is fun when I do go. Joan

Hi Everyone. Below is a photo of what I did with all those cute bunny ears from all of your HSTs. They're in little glass bottles that are 1" x 1 1/2" which I bought online from http://www.firemountaingems.com in Oregon. I haven't decided whether to make them into pendants with colored wire coiled around the bottle's neck for stringing onto a cord, chain, etc. or save them for a shadow box display of SoTTT memorabilia later on. They might also make cute magnets for magnetic message boards...I think a tiny round magnet could be glued to the back of each bottle. Anyway, all of this came about from Dawn's suggestion to save the threads from our HSTs for postcard embellishment. I saved the threads too...and all the strips left over from trimming Edyta's paper templates. I think the fabric strips will become hair of a Shirley Sue doll later on too.

The little bottles are so cute and what a precious remembrance of our exchange.

            Shirley,
Just too adorable! Love the tiny bottles.
            On another subject:
Did y'all see the call for quilt blocks? They are for quilts for orphans. Check it out if it's something you might want to contribute:
            http://forum/this-and-that-quilting-...charity-quilts
And be sure to see her photos on the blog, because there are color placement requirements for the disappearing 9 patch block.
Ask me why I'm stressing reading the directions? (After making 6 blocks wrong & having to rip & re-sew!!...oh well, anything for the kids!)

Oh my gosh, Shirley! I cannot believe you actually seperated all those tiny little "ears" by COLOR! My pile is a mix of all the colors that I have trimmed so far. Your little bottles are ever so cute! Thanks for sharing your idea!

Dawn, I first color-coded all the HST's into little plastic bags and THEN cut off the bunny ears for each bag! I filled 6 of the little bottles while I was trying to get over a bad cold in Orlando. I think Joan (snowladyns) in Canada said in an earlier post that she was going to put all of hers in one bottle which would also look terrific! Playing with the "little fabric tidbits" is giving me some time to bring to a boil some of the quilt patterns that have been simmering on the back burner of my mind for a while.

Two years ago at a Quilt Show they gave us jam jars made into pin cushions, mine sat for the longest time untill I started putting fabric tips in the jar. My grandaughter ask why so I told her I was saving them to plant and I would grow a quilt.

Shirley - I just love your little "ear bottles." What a great idea! I'm saving all my tiny scraps and threads for some kind of a project to remind me of what fun this has all been. Those little bottles are very tempting.

What clever ideas! I love them both. Have my bunny ears, just don't know what they're going to be when they grow up yet!

I love these, Shirley. I sure wish I had seen that sooner! As I was trimming them, I wondered what could possibly be done with them because they looked so cute laying there in the box. Since I didn't think of anything good, I sadly threw them out!
