I just found them here: http://www.fatquartershop.com/Tonga-...es-Fabrics.aspOriginally posted by tbrown0307Originally posted by CMOELLERSI just want to share this. I found some wonderful "Tonga Treats". They are 2 1/2" strips made by Timeless Treasures. They have some really nice cream batiks in the collection call "Meringue". I bought a package and am using Thangles to make a 2" Finished HST. This way I can have a nice selection of cream batiks and not go to a lot of expense buying a lot of cream color batik yardage. I hope this helps those that are having problems with finding cream colored batiks.
They are beautiful. Did you purchase them online or at your local quilt shop?
Teresa
They have them in strips or 10" squares. Both could be used with Edyta's papers as long as you cut them down first...

I'm confused but maybe that's from the freezing weather!! Do we have to use a cream or white on one side? I have some colorful print batiks and I would like to use them and a pale color with it. Is that OK?Originally posted by ritzyWe are to 106 members for our exchange. WhooHoo!

I think I'm finally ready to start doing my hsts. Got the papers, got the batiks, got the books and yesterday I found a few more neutral/beige batiks at my LQS. My daughter has planned a trip or two home from college to do hers with me too! I'm jazzed!
Ritzy-thanks again for organizing this! Hope you have power and aren't freezing! The news reported that Northern Indiana is having both! Take care!Lesley

ThanksOriginally posted by ScoopieBooklady, if you look at the rules on the first page of this forum, you will see that it states "light on one side, dark on the other." It does not say that we HAVE to use a cream. But, we HAVE to use only batks and have a good contrast.

I would like to sign up for this exchange, too. If my understanding is correct, we send one hst for every participant, and as long as there is good contrast between the fabrics - the light does not have to be cream or white.
