Dear Clara;
Love your porch! And it is covered too! We have porches on the front & back but our local ordinances won’t allow them to be covered since we built so close to the water. We do have a gazebo that is covered & screened though. It was built before they passed all the restrictions. We are on a tidal creed across from Palmetto Bluff, a kinda famous exclusive resort, little stores, nice restaurant, docks, little cottages, everywhere you can either walk or use golf carts (John Travolta, his family & friends rent the whole place out when they come down) other famous people come & go. When we sit on our dock we can see the church Palmetto Bluff has on their property for their private weddings. When the people from Palmetto Bluff go kayaking they usually come down our cove since it is directly across the river from them and it is a nice cove. From your calling card, I gather you have horses at your home too? How fun!
Any particular kind? Or, is this a really stupid question, like everyone in the Houston area owns horses??
S/ Barbara

I have an Arabian, a Paint and a Dales Pony (who looks like a big draft horse). No, everyone in Houston does not have horses. Probably most do not. I live near the Austin about 30 minutes away and it is more common to find horses when you get out of the bigger cities in Texas. Sounds like your area has lots of interesting stories. Hey all you SoTTTs!! Here's your weekly reminder about shipping. (Remember...this is just how I happened to do mine. Your packaging may look a little different.)
If it helps you to have a visual of what you need to send Debbie, this post's for you!
Depending on how many HSTs you send, your package may be smaller and postage may be less.
(This bubble wrap mailer, purchased at my local PO, is holding 616 HSTs.)
Inside the mailer of your choice you need to send to Debbie:
**A self addressed, STAMPED return mailer, at least as large and the one you ship to Deb in. Put your name and address as the return address so that if there is insufficient postage, it will come back to you. The PO box that Debbie is using will be closed so you don't want it going back there!
I'd like to suggest that rather than dropping your package into a mailbox, you take it to your local post office to post & mail. At that time you can talk with the postal clerk about what postage is needed for your return envelope.
PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR POST OFFICE FOR SUFFICIENT POSTAGE!
You will need to use stamps on this mailer. The metered postage is dated, so it can't be used for return mailing.
Include your TQS screen name and the total number of HSTs you are exchanging on the OUTSIDE of the return mailer.
**A plastic bag containing all your HSTs, clearly labeled with your TQS screen name and the total number of HSTs you are exchanging.
Please keep your total an increment of 28! Squeeze the air out of the plastic bag, to save space!
It will save time for the sorters if they don't have to unzip 615 bags!!
edited for Clara: All I want to add is if the international quilters want to zip their ziplox I'm fine with that. Especially since they have so far to go and you just never know how many hands touch their envelopes. Clara
**optional - HSTs for Australia, clearly labeled in a separate baggie. (DO NOT COUNT THESE HSTs IN YOUR TOTAL!)
**optional - HSTs for Hanne-Grete, clearly labeled in a separate baggie. (DO NOT COUNT THESE HSTs IN YOUR TOTAL!)

On the outside of your mailer to Debbie be sure to put your TQS Screen Name and total number of HSTs you are exchanging.

Following these guidelines will make things much easier for the sorting team to get the correct total back to you! THANK YOU!

I think for the USA addresses it will be ok. We were to put our address in the From and the To locations, so if you did this and if there is any postage due; it will be collected at final received end because it can't get back to a Texas address. I would just take all the inside USA packages (with To/From the same) to various postal boxes around you, give the package a 'happy trip pat', stuff them in and away they will go. Can't be traced back to you if the sender followed the instructions. For those that used your address in the 'sent from' area, I would label over it with the 'to' address then you could send those on there way also.Originally posted by CowtownQuiltsDebbie,Originally posted by NaneeWolfGood morning, SoTTT's Members!
I received an email from a member today letting me know her package has been mailed. She said her postal clerk told her to add more postage on the return envelope since the rates would be going up this spring. Sounds like something else to ask about when you mail your package.
Has anyone received similar information from their post office?
Thanks,
Debbie
:?: If I don't have enough postage to cover the return trip, can you notify me how much more money I need to send to cover the cost for the price increase and also hold my package until you get enough from me to cover it? :?: I don't mind one bit, as I'm afraid you are going to get to the post office with everyone's packages and get a wallop of a bill to cover the cost of those 615 packages.   You are already doing a phenomenal job of keeping track of everyone's packages, etc. I believe it is an astounding amount of work, and I'd hate to expect you to also cover the cost of the postal increase on everyone's packages, too. :|

Wow - what a job you all will have, and what fun to see the variety! I've been to the Post Office to get mailing envelopes and am getting everything ready to go, but I'll definitely post again after they go in the mail. I've got them labeled and bagged - am sending 7 sets from Lancaster County, PA where we're getting ready to host the AQS show in two weeks!

Please send me an email thru My Profile Page (not as a Private Message) to let me know when they're on their way. If you post it in the Forum, I would have to try to find the post again to let you know I received them and the way the pages are growing, it could take forever to find your original post.
Thanks so much,
Debbie
