Idea for people wanting to do a signature block. What if you could cram a copier full of the HST with paper facing down and have them copy it on to a transfer paper. You could then transfer the names onto their squares. Just trim tightly around the names before you do and don't peel off the paper until the transfer is done so that you know what name went where. Originally posted by ClaraLawrenceI appreciate all the sorting suggestions. I do have a plan, but like listening to ideas. Keep them coming. We have a bit of time to find a space and have several in mind, so I'm not worried about that. Tables are important, because that would be way too much time on the floor and even a good back will feel it after 615 x 224 (average HST/person) = 137,760. That's a lot of bending. So instead I am purchasing a brand new leaf blower and we will line up one wall with papers stuck to the floor with everyone's name and blow these all over the floor from across the room. No, we won't. I couldn't resist. There is a plan, so not to worry. I'm not, but margaritas are happening after! Clara

A thought for all those who missed the deadline, MAYBE there's enough of you to start a second swap? This one started with no idea how many folks would join or how many HST's there would be, there's nothing to say a second swap wouldn't get as big or bigger! Someone's just got to step up like our fearless leaders did here. I wouldn't be surprised if there were folks who'd participate in two...

And, will probably have to stop there daily, and bring them home to store before the big day. I am trying to picture 615 packages stored ANYWHERE in my condo. Not even a possibility! This whole project is mind boggling, and my hat is off to Debbie and Clara for volunteering! How do we say "Thank you?" Personally, I think it would be wonderful if we could all send a fat quarter to Debbie and Clara! They will have definitely earned them!

Oh Oh! Just finished my 6th sheet of HST when something popped from the back of my mind to the front
Did Edyta say something about putting the paper on top of the light fabric? It bothered me so I looked back at that segment and she did. If you put the paper on top of the light fabric it makes it easier to iron the seam to the dark side. Hopefully I am the only dunce in the Sister/Brotherhood to have made this mistake - only on 3 of the papers - but never mind I will redo and send correct ones with the paper on top of the light.

Re:Clara Lawrence suggestion of signatures on transfer paper
Signature blocks on transfer paper sounds like a great idea! For those that do not want to do the transfer paper; maybe when these quilters post that they have received their envelopes with their HST’s, they could also post their name at that time (first name is fine, or as much of their name as they want to) along with city, state and/or country and/or province & the quilter could add that name onto the quilt. Just so we have a historical record for the quilt.
Excited my papers arrived today! Barbara from Bluffton, SC-USA

Nan...sounds like you might have some extras of your own to put into your project. Thanks so much for double checking and making sure how it needed to be done.
I encourage everyone to rewatch Edyta's show at least once and maybe more if you have questions about the construction technique.

Clara and I are aleady getting headaches just trying to figure out the best approach and I've only received one box of HST's so far...only 614 more to receive and store somewhere in my house!!! If we're still sane after April, we'll let you know what the process was and we do plan on documenting it with photos.
