For anyone out there who has Edyta's Friendship Triangle book I have a quick question. For the quilt on the cover - how many HST does it take? Also was it made out of the 2" finished HST? I ordered the papers from Edyta's website this past week end and the book from Amazon today. The papers will arrive before the book and I am getting real curious. Thanks.

Originally posted by mimuscraftI get back to those international postages. I e-mailed again to our local post, because I was not sure I got it right in first time. (And I do not know if I am lost again...) Any way, they told me that one International Reply Coupon would give a stamp of lowest possible postage and I should check what that is in U.S. at http://www.usps.com. I found some prices on that site: First-Class International Mail prices start at 0,75$. So I calculated I would have to buy 19 of those Coupons to get 13,95$ shipping price covered! That would mean return postage would cost over 30 euros (over 40 dollars) for me. (So I would be very happy to use some other method for paying postage, since I don't have much money to spend on my quilting.)
I remember reading in earlier post Dorothy saying she had to buy 7 (or was it 8 ) coupons, so maybe I still did not understand what the lady in our post was trying to tell me...
In earlier posts there were also some other suggestions:
- Paypal: That should be easy (and cheap) way for me to send postage money to Debbie since I have used it many times for paying (last time when ordering papers from Laundry Basket).
- Someone mentioned Usps Click-n-Ship. Could that be used: I could pay postage, print label and stick it to return envelope here before I send my HST's. That is propably not possible. I tried to send e-mail to Usps customer service to ask about it, but didn't manage that. (The form asked for the state and zip code, and there were no option like 'international' on that list. I thought I just pick one state, but then I had no idea of those zip codes. That started me to think, in what state I would live, if I lived in USA. It should be some with cold winters, hot weather is not my thing...)
Mimuscraft -- The best option sounds like the International Reply Coupons that can be used to return them to sender in an International Flat Rate box or envelope. The smaller box or envelope will cost $13.95 U.S. to return. I have already agreed to take the Reply Coupons to my post office to exchange for U.S. Postage, but the correct postage amount and a completed postage return label will need to be included with your HST's. A lady from Australia sent me an email this morning saying they were available in that country too.
If there are couple of participants living in the same area, you could consider sending in your HST's together and they'll be returned together.
Paypal is not an option since we are not a business. We are just TQS members who volunteered to organize the exchange.
I used the U.S. International Flat Rate boxes to ship to my daughter who was living in Perth and they worked great. The boxes and envelopes are free at the U.S. Post Office and I can pick some up and have them ready to package to return.

The quilt on the cover of Friendship Triangles is called Medallion Quilt. It finishes to 59" square and it requires 420 HST's. There is also a larger quilt in the book, Criss-Cross Quilt that uses 784 HST's. It finishes to a 70" square.

Thanks. Guess I have a lot of HST to start working on.Hopefully I can reduce this stash of mine by a little bit with this project.
