    Pursuing the Creative Path

    Interesting read

Creative people are constantly feeding their knowledge base.

I have found this statement to be very true in my life. I usually study and work at a new "craft" until I am proficient at it. I find that in doing so, I find ways to work around problems that may arise in other project(many times, of a different craft). For instance, when I was studying to become a Lab. Tech. I was asked to test a new test they were thinking of using. The person showing me how to set it up told me to put the cap on loosely. I didn't understand why, but I was a student, so I did it. When the test was a failure, I questioned the loose cap and was told to do it again--correctly, this time. So, I did with the same results. Then when told to do it again, I did it my way(because I had found when I was canning fruits and veggies--that you put the cap on tightly). With the tightened cap, I was successful and got in trouble for commenting on how I got the correct results. Anyway--the point is this--because I had found out all I could while learning to can produce, I was able to think outside the box and get good results. I could probably come up with other examples but this is the one that came to mind first, even if it isn't "craft" related.
