    I just saw the renewal option for star members. Unsure of the content of the message. Can I renew today and receive the gift certificate for a friend and get the thread--or is that offer only for new members?

    No. These gifts are not just for new members. I've been a member and just renewed. My thread is already ordered and on the way. I'm sending the gift certificate to a friend.

      John posted this the other day: He accidentally sent the email to ALL star members to renew to get the goodies whether they needed to renew now or not. When he realized this, he posted on the daily blog yesterday that ALL STAR MEMBERS - even those who don't need to renew at this time -- can get the gift certificate and the $20 coupon. Just go to MY ACCOUNT and the coupon link should be there along with the GC link to give to a friend. No need to renew unless your membership expires soon.
