Out of fabric, but not quilted?

As I sit here and ponder your question, Lorchen, I can't think of anything I've done out of fabric without quilting since I made my DD 2 culotte (remember them?) dresses when she was in the 4th grade. That would have made her around 9 and she's now 27. 18 years! Wow! Talk about time flying.

Lorchen, your little dress is so adorable. I would think that Mum will save it for a special occasion for her to wear, don't you?

You asked a question, and here is my answer. Pillows. Lots of pillows! The solid color ones are from Costco, and I covered them, too with coordinated fabric, but sometimes remove the covers when I need a change. The lumbar pillow is for the matching leather chair. The three larger pillows in the back of the corner couch unit were black leather, and I just thought it was way too much black in my living room!

And, your little dress is precious!

I love making cushions also....and placemats.......i have so many of them both......sometimes i will see a fabric that i would not make a quilt out of but think it would look great as a cushion or placemat.....lol lol lol

I made carrying cases for my iPad and iPhone. They work together. The iPhone, in its case, will fit right into the larger pocket on the back of the case for the iPad. I carry both to the allergist every week, because I have to wait 1/2 hour after my injections before they will let me go home. They have free WiFi there, so I can do e-mail, download books to the Kindle app, and so on.

Free WiFi at the Doctor's office? That's a great perk. You could watch part of the Quilt Show!
Imagine free WiFi in waiting rooms...hmmm...

I can watch some of the short Quilt Show stuff on the iPad, but the actual shows would require me to buy an app in order to see those. When I read the reviews of the recommended app, they aren't good, so I've been hesitant to do that. The iPad2 is great for reading the forum, blogs, and so on, and for watching the shorter videos. It's amazing to sit in the allergist's waiting room. Almost every adult who comes in has a laptop, a Kindle, a smart phone, or some kind of tablet and that's how we spend the 1/2 hour wait after we get our shots. I've gotten lots of compliments on my homemade carrying case!
