    hand painted/dyed sunflowers ????

Hi, I was hoping that through this forum I might be able to find someone who can steer me in the right direction.

Sometime ago I saw an episode on Simply Quilts that had a gentleman on who had either dyed or painted his own fabrics and had then made a magnificant quilt with sunflowers and chooks (Hens) on it. It was depicting things from his childhood memories i think.

Does this ring any bells for anyone? I would love to see how he did this again and also find out what products he used to accomplish it.

Being an Aussie the show was probably years old before it aired here anyway. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried searching the Simply Quilts videos on HGTV.com? Once there, do a search for quilting videos. I didn't try it but you may be able to narrow the search for Simply Quilts only. I spent a very enjoyable rainy morning today viewing a bunch of them.

Good luck...hope you find what you're looking for.

Vicky, my first reaction was that it might be Phil Beaver. He does dye his fabrics and the sunflower is a favorite theme in his work. Go to philbeaver.com .
