    precision cutter

Okay i was walking through my local office supply store and found a nifty little cutter. It is by scotch and looks like a pen. the "blade" is porcelain and is supposed to last longer than a metal blade. It is for cutting paper and film. Of course I had to buy it and give it a try. This is perfect for cutting accurate shapes out of freezer paper. Just thought you'd like to know.

I have thrown out the package, but it says Scotch precision cutter on the side. Its white looks like a pen with a cap and it was where you find exacto cutters. I found mine a Staples. Here is a link.

Wonder if these would be allowed to take on airplaines to do handwork? Or have the rules changed? Haven't been on one in a while.

Probably, the tip is probably only1/8 of an inch if that. I don't think it would give you more than a paper cut.

Have you tried multiple layers of freezer paper, or tried cutting foundation for glue stick applique? I usually cut out four shapes at a time. Love the idea of this & will have to have one to play with, multiple layers or not!! Thanks -- Kathy B.

Hi Kathy, I just tried it with Ricky's stable stuffy. It went through two layers, but when I added a third layer, it only cleanly cut through the first layer partially through the second and left a slight crease in the third. As for freezer paper, I am out right now, but I imagine it would possibly make it through 3 layers.
