Could I ask for help in finding a fabric that looks like wheat to be used for a thatched roof? I've been searching on the web and can't seem to find anything although I've seen it in the past.

Well it looks like golden stalks of wheat or grass. Just gently curved yellow gold lines that look that look like grass. I'm making a country cottage and wants to put a gold thatched roof on it.

Something like this Patti? Makower do a good range of texture prints of grass and stones, etc.

or maybe this would be more suitable

Thank you so much. The second one is closer to the one I'm looking for. I'm looking for one where it looks like the grass/wheat is cut and the stalks are laid closer or denser. Its the old "I should have grabbed it when I saw it" last fall. I've tried all the tag words I can think of like landscape, wheat, grass, thatched roof. Just can't find it again.

Google Baby! Found your fabric in seconds at Shoreline Handwerks. Note the spelling. I'm sure there are other sources, but once I found one, I stopped looking. ALWAYS GOOGLE!! Hey there happens to be some yardage on ebay as well. ALWAYS CHECK EBAY!! Good luck, and all of you out there, be more aggressive in your searches. Seek and ye shall find!

Sorry haven't found it yet even with Google and Ebay. Although I found a passable substitute on Ebay. But I sure appreciate all the help.

Don't underestimate the search engines. Google whatever you know about the subject, such as the fabric manufacturer, name of specific collection, even number of the fabric if you have it - I mean the specific number assigned to the fabric. If you find no results, start whittling down your criteria - be LESS specific. By the way, I google everything before I buy it online, and I find who has it on sale, best price, etc. Have you ever tried the images part of google? Type in log cabin quilt and you get hundreds of pictures. Type in a quilt artist you know, and you will get pictures of them and their quilts, and other things related. Type in "quilts Ricky" and you get the obvious, but you may also find out about another quilter named Ricky as well. I'm gaga over google!
