    Round Robin

I'm planning to participate in my first round robin. Any suggestions on what kind of description I should put on my project? Is it better to be guided or be more open? I don't want to squelch the creativity! Thanks in advance for the feedback, Terry.

I have done four Round Robins between my two groups. One group...wanted more direction...the second group...wanted none.
I will say...the second group...the quilts were better.

Is there a theme? One group wanted to do a Christmas theme. I am Jewish...don't get me wrong...I enjoy Christmas with the decorations. I don't decorate in red and green. So I did a snowman theme and requested blue and white. I was still in the 'spirit' of the RR and it was a quilt that I could keep out for the winter instead of just the holiday season.

Several things to think about: what size do you wish your finished quilt/wallhanging to be? You may have guildlines for size of borders or rows to be added.

Do you have specific colors you really dislike? Please let folks know.
There is nothing like opening a quilt which has your least favorite color that has been used as the primary theme of your quilt.

Please...save the embellishments for when the quilt is finished. It is much more challenging to quilt around buttons, bows, and beads. If these things are to be added to the quilt, have the person put them in a baggy to travel with the quilt.

Send a journal to travel with your quilts...this way every person can write something about your quilt or working on your quilt. This also helps the next person who works on it.

Send enough fabric along with the quilt...fabric you want to be included. Also those who are working on the quilt should also send fabric...this way there is continuity in the quilt.

I am sure there is more information....but I am only running on one cup of java this morning.

    Have a great time.

FW, thank you for the feedback. I've made a journal, written likes and dislikes, size, etc. Guess I'm ready for the exchange to begin next week!
