    magnifying glasses for applique

I am having trouble seeing those little stitches I need to make for hand applique. I remember seeing somewhere a magnifying glass shaped in a rectangle that hung around your neck. Does anyone know what I mean and where I can buy it? thanks in advance Judy in AZ where it is going to be HOT next week

    JoAnn.com has them on line...
    http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.j...RODID=prd34513

I have also seen them at Michael's Crafts in the needlework area.
I have one and LOVE it!!

Another place to check is http://www.createforless.com.
There is a search products box...and just type in magnifiers and several will come up.
I have ordered from this company before and have been happy with service.

FW, thanks for the information. I will try Michaels and if they don't have one, then try that newest website which has them for $13 on sale. Judy in AZ

Being a real cheapskate, I bought a package of 3 pairs of reading glasses in the pharmacy at WalMart for less than $8. I keep reading glasses all over the house, and in the drawers of many of my treadles, since I now need them for threading needles, darn it.'

I had one of those magnifiers - bought it at AC Moore several years ago when I did a lot of cross stitch. Hmmm... maybe I had better dig that out again...

                I have many 'magnifying' tools...........ha!

My first is a tall circular lamp with magnifying lens and circle fluorescent light that is about 20 years old, weighs a TON, and is only on it's SECOND circular bulb after all these years. (I've had a spare purchased for over 5 years, i know!)

I also have a small circle that clamps on to your work area that even has a small circle within itself that is a 12x magnifier. It is on a flexible goose neck. Works well in the right situation.

Then, of course, there are the drugstore 'old lady glasses' and I have some at the highest magnification, and those work ok in some situations.

I would have to say the round magnifier that hangs around the neck is my least favorite because every time I move, it moves. Maybe if I could sit still better it would work better.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
