Animal blocks seen on Simply Quilts years ago

Way before I ever started quilting and just enjoyed the Simply Quilts show I saw someone who made blocks that were pieced but had little extras. Like a cat's tail would hang down as a 3-d element. And maybe it's ears would be fabric folded and stitched in the seams. To me they appeared maybe as folk art. I can only remember farm animals and the barn. I'm assuming that most of the people on the show had books. I would love to know who this was and purchase that book.

It might have been Sandy Bonsib. Her book is Folk Art Quilts: A Fresh Look.
