The Quilter's Album of Patchwork Blocks and Borders

I have just pre ordered 'The Quilter's Album of Patchwork Blocks and Borders' over here, comes out next month.

Amo, I've had that wonderful book for many years. I was just looking at it last week! Any book by Jinny Beyer is a real keeper! Judy in Torrance

Amoret did you receive the book? I'm looking for a book that will tell me the names of blocks and how to piece them.

          Hi there

I have had my book (the new version) for awhile and it will show you how the blocks are made up. It names the blocks and has them in chapters based on their composition. It is a wonderful resource and you would be unlikely to need another.

This book is very similar to Barbara Brackmans ENCYCLOPEDIA OF QUILT BLOCKS and the EQ software program BLOCK BASE. BLOCK BASE IS MY FAVORITE WAY TO DRAFT PATTERNS because of my inablity to draw straight lines.

I do love the color plates in the book I read a few pages from it several times a week...

A MUST HAVE BOOK for quiltiing refence of your library.

Well, the original post was about the first published book which had gone out of print. I have since had the new version on order with both Amazon UK and Waterstones who both say they have it, but actually don't.

As it's a large heavy book I think I can wait until it becomes available over here, maybe a year or two though!!!

Amoret, I just checked at jinnybeyer.com site for the book "The Quilter's Album of Patchwork Patterns". Is this the same book as what you were talking about? If so, they list the book for $49.95 and to ship internationally the additional cost is $40.00. I did not go all the way through the ordering process to see if they have any in stock. If this is the same book I hope they have it in stock and maybe you can get it sooner. Bobbi

I bought my new Jinny Beyer book from Connecting Threads for around $35.00 (this includes the shipping). I don't know if they ship internationally or if they still have the book in stock. Judy

I just got an email from Connecting Threads and "The Quilter's Album of Patchwork Patterns" is back in stock and I got my order placed yesterday...at the sale price too. Of course, I had to order some batting and decided to try the Golden Threads paper etc. I'm looking forward to getting that book. Sandi in FL

Thanks Bobbi. I'm often ordering from JB, just can't get enough of her fabric, but, as yet, I've resisted adding it to my cart!!!

Not sure how long it will last for though. I have so many things in my head, the last thing I need i another book of inspiration!!!

The graphics in Jinny Beyer's books are wonderful and she shows how to draft any block in her books. You can also use Jinny's books to draft any blocks in the Brackman Encyclopedia, too.

Now where can I buy some time to put a few of these into practise???

Amo, I'm glad you finally got your book! I need some time, too, to work on drafting blocks!
