Love seeing all the different color combinations and patterns. I decided to use a rainbow of bright colors - got this far today. My husband helped me decide on the color for the wedgies and butts...wanted just one color. Looking forward to watching the video on borders and then finishing this up.

I’m really happy with my design, but it doesn’t look anything like what I expected. Thank you Ricky for your tips on how to handle mistakes. I’ve used some of them.

These are the borders you get when you plan to do a double mitered border, but then realize your border pieces aren't long enough to miter. :-)

Love this border! I think I’ll copy!

I pulled some fabrics from my stash, that are not quite my traditional colourway and just started sewing. Now the for sections are sewn together and it looks like a christmas ornament or snowflake. I like it! Now I have to decide on a border. I have a lot of small pieces left from my strata and thinking about adding additonal „spikes“ to the star.

I love this winter look. It will be exciting to see where you go from here. Keep posting your progress.

Ricky explained everything so well and step by step, so I could follow easily, even though, English is not my first language…

Have finished the centre and am very pleased with it. Many thanks Ricky, for your excellent instructions. Will take some time now to think about the borders.

I posted a previous version with aqua butts and wedgies. I thought the kaleidoscope just faded into the background, so I carefully ripped those seams and redid the outside in two shades of purple. On to thinking about borders.

                      Fantastic! Wtg!

My COVID KOOL KALEIDOSCOPE is called “The 12 days of Covid”.
I’ve been watching Ricky demonstrate Kool Kaleidoscopes since I joined TQS in February 2007, but when he said he used his HOSPITAL GOWN, I knew it was finally time for me to jump on the bandwagon because my son was in the hospital then with Covid! He is home now, and I asked his wife to send me his hospital gown because the dots reminded me of the Corona Virus images. He was in the hospital for 12 days and there are 12 dots in the central star.
Thanks Ricky Tims for yet another wonderful learning experience.
                    TQS ROCKS!!

I really like the fact that your strips of fabric in the strata were narrow. Makes a very dramatic outcome.
