    Half Square Triangles

I absolutely hate trimming 1/2 square triangles. I never get them exact. I used my acru quilt to cut the 2 1/2 squares and they came out accurate. But know I am doing the 2 inch and I am ready to give up

Have you tried the triangle paper? It's called Star Singles in the TQS store and doesn't need to be squared up. There's a similar product in local quilt stores. Instructions are on Dee's video for 4/10.

You still have to trim but this way may make it a little easier. Trimming HSTs the Fast Way — The Inquiring Quilter
Accuquilt also has dies for the different sizes and if you sew with the correct seam they will come out. I measure them periodically to make sure that I'm not off.

I learned Accordion HST method several years ago on Youtube and with Beth's first Oompah book. Recently took class with Beth Helfter- what fun. I used this method for Long Time HSTs and it was a great time saver. I trimmed triangles before opening using recommended Clearly Perfect Angles rulers- expensive but well worth it.

What workshop did you do with Beth Helfter? She's local to my area and I've heard her speak several times. I'm currently looking for programs for my guild.

These trimmers look like they are well worth the price though I have seen them from $31.95 up. Thanks for the info.

Jen Kingwell has a series of postcard projects which have a template included.
The nearly 60 degree triangle is one of them.
They cost £5 here in the UK

I really like your block! It’s upbeat and contemporary with a great blend of colors and patterns.

Well I tried at least a half dozen times to post photos of my HST's but I kept getting various error messages. I'm beyond frustrated!

I think I was able to post a couple of photos (pineapple and 60 degree triangle topics). I don’t know if they will hold or if anyone else can see them. I had to load them as attachments (the clipboard icon in upper right corner of the your “write something” prompt). It would not work at all to post through the camera icon). When you click on attachment (clipboard icon)...you can select from your photo library and then have to indicate size of photo. I selected medium. I hope it works for you. The forum has been really wonky and is extremely frustrating! Who knows if the ones I posted will hold or be visible to others.

Super accurate half square triangles. A friend gifted me a Folded Corner Clipper ruler from Creative Grids.
It is so fabulous, I can't believe I did not know about it before. It will be my Go To Ruler for binding cuts for making
the long binding strips, and flying geese, and yes Half Square Triangles. It cuts off the dog ears and add the seam
allowance without drawing any lines. They cost about $17 and there are lots of you tubes on how to use them.
The picture did not show up, so I will try to post it separately. HelenW

The Folded Corner Clipper ruler from Creative Grids is my go to ruler forHST and to use in making my binding strips and in joining the ends of said binding. A real game changer.
