Looks great, Dorothy! I'm thinking now that I really want a new cover on my ironing surface instead of washing what I have. I've gotten some stains on it that will not come out, and this looks so fresh and inviting. I'll bet it makes you want to start working on something!

I am totally organizing my whole room because I am moving back upstairs. I was in our unfinished basement but with the winter here in full force I decided it was not going to work. Too cold! Little electric space heater was not doing the job. I had moved down during the summer. Love being able to make a mess and leave not worrying that anyone would see it. Oh well, in the room upstairs I will be warmer and I will just close the door if I have company. In the meantime it will get all organized once I get everything back up. So I have to get busy to beat Margo's deadline!
Hey gran5, I wish I lived in Vicksburg, I would take your old mags. With all this cold I am missing the warmth of Mississippi right now. My home state. What am I doing up here in this deep-freeze anyway?

I am sure going to try to do this! Have been trying to work on leaning/organizing my office space, but have hit a bit of a log jam because of all my volunteer jobs, and - being a prefectionist/procrastinator by nature. So changing it up and attacking the semi-disaster that has become my workroom would be a good idea. Were you reading my mind Margo??? :-D

Well, I have terrible lighting in half of my room and bought a new fixture with three spotlights . I ended up rearranging the whole room because I eventually want to put in new cabinets and didn't want to move the fixture when that happened. So in a way I have started to clean my ironing and cutting areas. Hope to get that done by Friday and meet the challenge.

]Originally posted by gran5I'm already working on it Margo. I bought a nice storage cabinet at Home Depot yesterday. I've been washing new fabric that's been laying around for a while (some a year). I thought DH was going to put the cabinet together today, but that didn't happen - gotta light a fire under him tomorrow. Still have a good way to to, but I'm on a roll. I have a huge stack of quilt magazines to go through and then give away. Going to start working on them a few at a time.

Cheryl - the cabinet is 48" wide X 20" deep and 6' tall. It is called a wardrobe cabinet and came with a rod for hanging. I won't use the rod, so will get a couple more shelves to put in instead. The cost was $108 plus tax, which I don't think is bad at all. By the way, it weighs 195 lbs. DH just about has it put together, but right now is frantically searching for his Phillips screwdriver, which he had but now can't find. Imagine that.
Margo - I remember your folding method. Most of the fabric I washed was fat quarters. I don't have a lot of yardage and what I have is stored in plastic bins under my bed right now. Haven't decided yet exactly what I'm gong to put in it. Probably bins of scrap fabric, rulers, UFO's, patterns, WIP's, and charity items in progress.
Karen (sugarmuffin) - I just noticed today that the daffodils and narcissus are starting to come up. Won't be long until they bloom.

'How to eat an elephant - one bite at a time'
My ironing table doubles as my cutting table, but at the moment I can barely use a quarter of it, I desperately need to join in, because I want to get going with some pattern cutting, which has no chance of happening currently.
Will try to remember the before & after pictures for entertainment.
